Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!

I forgot about the oil Brian mentioned. If you didn't want to go with just standard store-brand oil, I'd definitely go with what Brian was recommending. I think out of most of us he has the most experience with engine rebuilds
I was told to run Rotella T in mine and it worked just fine.
Brad Penn is really good stuff too like Brian mentioned, I know an engine builder who swears by the stuff. If it was more readily available that's what I would have used for mine too but I was in a hurry.

I have heard great things about the Brad Penn, but yes I haven't found anyone that stocks it and I have heard it's quite expensive.

IMO its not that expensive.
Penn Grade 1 (high zinc) is a partial synthetic- 0w30, 10w30, 10w40, 20w50 the list price is $6.49 but my work sells it for $6.00 a quart.
They also make a full synthetic 5w30 meets dexos 1 standards. (Comparable with mobil 1) that we sell for $5.00 quart
Oh, I didn't realize it was that cheap, I thought it was more.

Installed the torque arm, the rearend just got shifted up so we gave it a good yank and the torque arm fell into place.
Extended passenger O2
Installed ac compressor
Routed belt
Tightened down k member good
Tied back loose wires that were close to the headers
Installed dust shield
Connected and routed wheel speed sensors or maybe abs sensors?
We have left to do:
Wire up ewp
A few brake lines, nothing big
Adjust rockers
Tighten trans lines (suggestion?) crows foot maybe? Fronts are good but rears blow
Need to buy:
Aftermarket intake elbow asap!
Shifter linkage nut. I set mine down, who knows where. What size is it?
Tires
Coolant, how many gallons?
Oil
Trans fluid, how many quarts?
Should have it running tomorrow night. Idle vid to follow
