    • Thanks guys. No debris got in there. The needle bearings look good and it's still packed with grease.

Any idea about trans sensors that need to be unplugged? The walk through I'm following doesn't mention any.

Where should I hook the cherry picker to lift the body?

      • I didn't undo any sensors on the trans.

I wrapped the chains around the frame rail where the coolant overflow / battery tray normally sits on the passenger side and then on the driver's side where the air intake opening is.

        • Got it out! The only issue I ran into was the dollies running into the legs of the cherry picker. While I thought it was a good idea to have dollie under each control arm to keep the the shocks from falling to the side, I think when I put it back in I will go with a single dollie in the center. I still need to get my mandatory pic popping out of the empty engine bay. haha

                  • Got the engine and trans separated today. The trans was STUCK to the dowels. It was a major pain!

                        • It's typical for the steel dowels to fuse themselves to the aluminum bell housing.

Do yourself a favor. Clean the dowels/holes up with scotch brite and then put some anti seize on them

Thanks for the tips and tricks guys. Having not done any of this before, the extra info really comes in handy.
