Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

First off I'm not discrediting Fred's car in any way its obviously got a lot of potential and with some more seat time will show much better ETs as well. If he wants to do the gauges I think it looks bad ass for sure and I myself would do it if I had the cash, my opinion was to work on the motor and suspension combo and then tackle the smaller stuff but he can do whatever he wants to. Third my 13 second turd is ready and waiting.
stirring the pot here, yes joel i spun all the way threw first for the most part. didnt miss any gears. ill admit my driving skills at the track could def use some improvment. nitrous wasnt hitting as hard as it should but i think my car still will only top 110. need a rear end and some sticky tires before i can really prove anything. cuz if its on this 10 bolt the car wont see its full potential.
i understand that im just saying you have a lot more pontential as it sits with some practice. low 13s easy, maybe even a 12. what are you launching at? when i was stock i was starting out at 2000 RPM or less and cutting 2.2s at lapeer....which isnt good but decent.
a common mistake i see is people trying to keep the RPMs up on the launch. 9 times out of 10 that doesnt work with street tires. Its much, much easier to get a good launch if you let the RPMs absorb your launching. You want your clutch to be fully engaged as soon as possible within the lower range of your engines power (obviously you dont want to stall/bog it).

i was cutting 2.5 60 foots and i was launching around 3k rpm, anything under that it just bogged down real bad, so thats prob my driving but ive been to the track twice, i could use alot more practice. i was also at lapeer.
lol at you guys getting your panties in a bunch. I'll gladly put up. Why no nitrous?
We were talking about drag racing Joel nothing else, Jeff made a comment about Fred's car looking fast and not actually being fast. I'm pretty sure Fred wants a street car not a crazy drag car. He was spinning all through 1st on all seasons. We were at Lapeer and it was raining that day.
As for Jeff's car hanging the tires, cool. I can too. I heard his car running 13's at PINKS, is all that I'm saying. He threw a jab at Fred so I threw one back whats so hard to see there?
Fred needs some practice and some better tires but he's on a stock 10 bolt at this point. He doesn't need to toss better tires on it and chance blowing it out when it's his Daily Driver.
As for MPH means everything, I'd argue that statement. Like I stated you can trap 130's and run a 14. Which means what? That you have a 10 second car if you can get it to hook but the point being is it is a 14 second car. Roll racing is a different story and in my opinion, it isn't racing.

your car should not be bogging under 3K. with stock manifolds you should have good torque all the way down to 1500 RPM. The thing is, even if you do bog a little thats better than spinning a lot.
here's an old vid of my car, if you listen to the launch you can hear me starting from a pretty low RPM... and this was with headers which killed some of my way-low-down torque.
ya joel i need to be at the track more to run better times, im first to admit as of right now its me not the car holding itsself back. thats a good run joel, very respectable.
thanks, it will come to you dont worry. my first launches were 3000+ and spinning too, so i learned that one the hard way. just giving you some pointers to experiment with for next time
