Turbonetics TC76 is rated to 750 hp and the 78 to 800 hp. When you calculate those in RWHP terms, through your automatic, you are at about 600-650 rwhp. Also, on much above the 5.7l without a proper spec'd camshaft or free flowing exhaust, you will experience high back pressure the more you push it.

If you are content with wanting 600-650 rwhp, the Turbonetics or the ON3 will definitely make you more than happy as well as your wallet. If you want much above that, you have to get into something with a better flowing turbine side, like the PTE 7675 or a Comp 7479 or 7879.

If you want to make 600 rwhp at the most. You will be just fine with an ON3 or Turbonetics TC76 or 78. If you want to make above 650 rwhp, you should think about getting a Comp 7479 or 7879 or a Precision 7675.

Physically too big for packaging of this kit. You need a tubular K-member and a stood up radiator to fit a BW

Never looked into those as I never heard of people using them. I did look them up though and found the biggest seems to be a 66mm compressor wheel and a 73mm turbine wheel. Therefore, I don't see them really out performing anything else that can be directly bolted onto the kit. Might be a good alternative if they perform well on 5.7l+ at 600+ rwhp, but I haven't seen any data or their physical size to see if they would fit. An S400 series will not fit for sure!

If you wish to modify it, that is all up to you. The kit comes with supplied brackets to mount it up front where it gets proper air flow. I would not run one horizontal, which is why I did not when building these kits, and also why you probably don't find much when searching.

Never seen anyone run that or have I seen one anywhere to know if it would fit as in physically or in bolting up to the kit's components. I think we are making this far more complicated for Mike than it needs to be. Too many options can be a bad thing and probably just more confusing for Mike. A Turbonetics unit will suit his goals just fine. If he wishes to make more power in the future, he might be better off going a bit bigger now to a proven, known fitting turbo like the PTE 7675 or the Comp 7879. Any one of those turbos will be far sufficient!

Buy a used TC78 and sell it for the same price you bought it for and get a PT7675 when you decide to up the power. Or just spend the $1,000+ for a 7675 now.

the borg chassis designation is pretty whacky and not exactly regular. I would be curious if my Bullseye turbo would fit on your kit. my turbo would be great for this application if it does. I had a T4 turbine (I think it's a 96mm, not sure 100%, it's the largest T4 they offer) the compressor is an 80mm. it has a 4" outlet on the hotside. I'm not even sure how they classify the turbo. Bullseye lists it as an S480, yet it has the T4 (and the largest S300 is listed as their 75, most of the "s400" is T6) yet mine is not....unless I ended up with some Wild Bill Mutt turbo? I'm not to certain, it cost around $1400

it makes over 600rwhp on 10# and has plenty of room to grow...
