well since im buying into jonnys huron speed turbo kit for my bird im just wondering where it may stand once its all together. i know i have a lot of work and a lot of research to do before this thing hits the streets, but im just curious.

i will be getting a specd cam for my setup and turbo
im wondering if i should have the stock 5.3 heads cleaned up or use my stage 2 livernois 243s
still plan on using my 3500 stall and 3.73 gears
ls6 intake

anything else im missing (big stuff)

what can i expect after having a good tune?

also any other advice or suggestions would be great. i do not want to touch the shortblock at this moment except for possibly arp rod bolts. i will start a new build thread once i start the project

first off, congrats on buying into the HS turbo kit! Let me know if you have any questions or need a hand with anything during the build.

Personally I sold my Livernois Stage 2 heads and bought some stock 317's. Made $550-600 on the swap to spend in other places, the 317's lower your compression, and flow very close / same as stock 243's. If you plan to run E85 than you might consider keeping your 243's...

Your power and 1/4 mile times will depend a lot on which 76 or 78 turbo you select. An on3 or Turbonetics will not make as much power with the same boost as a comp turbo or precision.

11:1 and 8 psi typically requires e85 or meth kit, or so I've read. I have read people pushing more on premium but

317's are from the LQ4/9 6.0L. You can find them all day long on LS1tech for $200. I paid $175 shipped for mine...

I have a turbonetics TC78...not the best because of the small exhaust side but it fits well within my budget and goals. Bullseye's are bad ass turbo's but they will cost you

I sold mine locally for $850 (no shipping). For shipping you need to figure an extra $50.

Ask $950-$1000 and work from there...

Find a good used Precision PT7675. You'll thank me later.

I would honestly put stock 243/799 heads back on the car if you planned on keeping it at 8 PSI. It'll make more power than 8PSI with 317's.

8PSI on a stock LS2 would probably make 550-ish RWHP.
