I would honestly put stock 243/799 heads back on the car if you planned on keeping it at 8 PSI. It'll make more power than 8PSI with 317's.
8PSI on a stock LS2 would probably make 550-ish RWHP.

the results of these combos vary so much dependant on the other components of the build. You will be limited to how much power it makes based first off of the fuel system, second off of what the motor and trans will hold, and third off of the turbo itself. IMO unless your going to run 8-10 lbs max ever then I would only go with a 76/75 from precision or a b/w or bullseye S unit, everything else will have too small a turbine for your motor and will eventually be more dangerous due to backpressure. If your set on running a 76mm turbo to the ragged edge then build a smaller cube motor or keep the cubes and use a bigger frame T6 turbo with a lot of turbine and smaller compressor wheel. I could go on and on just depends on what you want, that will determine what you need to buy to meet those goals.Doing less with more

Sell the LS2 - and use the money to fund the entire build
4.8/5.3 - Z06 cam
Turbo kit
Fuel system
The smaller cubes will allow you to make the most of the small turbines on the market.
Turbonetics is supposed to release their new larger t4 turbines shortly.
I wouldn't give Precision a dime of my money - been there done that.....2000 Formula
fixed slow junk

These other guys are much more knowledgeable about turbo selection but something else that needs to be considered is the ability to control them at your desired boost level. It might not be an issue with perfect wastegate placement but I've read several threads where guys couldn't control a PT 76/75 below 12psi on an LS1. I know one for sure was using a KY Turbo Kit with a wastegate placement very similar to the HS kit.
Maybe it's not an issue with your extra cubes but it's still something you need to be aware of.

Yeah i know i have tons of research to do. Im thinking about coming out next weekend to watch yours. How big is your turbo and how much boost?

Mine's a 78/68 turbo. Someday I will upgrade to a PTE 76/75 or the new T-netics if it ever comes out but only after I'm ready to run 12+ psi
Right now I'm only at 6psi. I started low because I was learning how to tune for boost and I wanted the extra safety. I'm ready for more now but I don't have the funds for the electronic boost controller that I want so it will wait until spring. By my calculations (very rough) the 6psi only nets me about 20-30 more hp than my old h/c setup but the torque comes on so fast that the car feels a lot faster and is a lot more fun to drive!
Hopefully I see you out there next Sunday and we can discuss your build.

That being said 5.3's have been in the 8's untouched in light cars and well into the 9's untouched in street cars with overdrive.
