    • Well, I ended up working WAY later than normal, so I didnt get as much done, but I will start tomorrow morning. Just have to put the rad in and fill.

I ended up running into a wiring issue(stuff not long enough) which was my fault because I didnt run them the right way(didnt know) so I re ran everything on the passenger side and it all lined up, I did unplug the coil packs just so see if it would turn over, which, it did!

Question though, hopefully jeff knows, how do you know if you have oil pressure? The cluster cuts out when you try to start it so theres no way to tell, also tried via obd but it wasnt an available PID. I want to make sure its well primed before I start it.

do you have all 3 grounds on the heads

        • Yea I do, like not completely, just guages dont read anything and service engine soon is the only thing that lights up, always did it with my v6, like how the radio stops playing for a second when you start it. The cluster never totally looses power, the gauges never sweep or anything.

          • Yeah that's normal - that's what mine did when we primed the oil pump too.

            • Thats what I thought, how do I know if Im actually getting pressure? Or isnt there a way aside from pulling the opsu and putting a mechanical on? Im worried about that damn oil pickup tube o ring.

              • As soon as it starts it should jump right up to where the oil pressure is.

                • you gotta be careful with the wireing routing lol
i know a guy who got a wrecked out cts-v and fixed it. when he was putting the harness in he routed it wrong and some how switched a sensor on the trans with the cam sensor!
it would start like every other time. Had to do alot of rerouting.

                  • I actually never check my pressure gauge until my car actually fires up Spencer, I just fire it and my eyes are soley on that at first and once I notice that is good I begine to check over everything else. Also just so you know the car will probably smoke a little bit after it warms up, especially off the header primaries from the grease on your hands burning off.

                    • If the pick up tube o-ring is pinched the car will still build oil pressure. It will just be more like 20PSI at idle instead or 40psi.
