  • Im really pleased as well! Im also almost done painting the ac canister bracket, its was kinda rusty on the bottom.

For reference, heres what I started with. Picture sucks but I couldnt really find a better one. You can see the rust by the battery pretty good.

On another note how about emblems like this?

Where is says Trans Am you could get it to say like 327 or something. Would look sweet as hell

            • Looking good! Once you get to it, from what I've found an LS6 intake and mild (224/224) cam does wonders for those motors.

Are there people that have done the 327 swap before? What kind of numbers did they put on.

Spencer, your car is officially freaking awesome now, lol. I really like you going outside of the box on this.

                  • The 327 swap isnt very common, most people go 6.0 or bigger. Especially the iron block 6.0's because being iron they can be bored bigger. Most people just dont waste there time with the 5.3, but there are a few. Being an lsx its all compatible, and most of whats known about its performance comes from the 5.3 truck guys.

Theres a really interesting article on tech where some guy blew up is ls1, and was strapped for cash so had a shop put a 5.3 in and after a cam, ls6 intake, headers, and a some head work was putting down around 400, I cant remember if its was crank or rwhp, im assuming crank.

                    Thanks for the kudos kyle!

                    • Looking great, Spencer! I'm TOTALLY jealous of how much work you pulled off on that engine bay in the shorter amount of time. Man I feel like a slacker!

                      • Thanks B! I spent 3+ hours sanding and wire wheeling on sunday, then cleaned and primed. Shot color on monday, clear on tuesday, and a final clear again this morning. Pulled all the tape/paper off and was quite supprised at what a damn fine job I did, haha.

Time to get cracking B! Also, the only other size that paints availible in is quarts and gallons. Which are obviously, not spray cans.

                        • my gawd you make me want to go home and drop my engine out this weekend. that looks freaking fantastic!

You def got my vote for best 4th gen next month.

I vote for retro 327 badges (the white ones with the chrome edges) cause i think it would match your white and silver very good.

However I wouldnt do anything else retro because your car is modern - Just consider it a good looking [and fitting] badge.

                              • Those look really nice to joel, and I bet there cheaper than the lsx emblems, which unfortunately arent even available yet.

But adam thats not what I wanted to hear about the o2's. Now I guess thats something ill have to look into, anyone else heard of this?
