• thanks man, I hope it wont come to that.
ok next item on the decision list is the front of engine accessory brackets. It comes down to alt and pwr strng on the drivers side with a tensioner on the pas , or alt on pas. side and pwr steering on the drivers side. both use the truck spacing, I have to figure out what to do with the water pump also. The spout is in a bad place. I was thinking of opening up the port on the front and welding a tube onto it and either welding the truck spout hole closed or capping it with a freeze plug.
Sis there any advantages to either set up? The alt right and power steering left set up looks way nicer, more balanced, but its $60 more.
Any thoughts ?

• Darren has the serp setup native to the third gen. I'm running a more old school setup with alternator on the passenger side.

• I dont know what a 3rd gen set up looks like. My engine bay was empty when I bought this car. If there isnt any advantage either way I will probably do the alt. Left, pwr steering right.

• Right now Im just putzing here and there with things. Next month I am going to have a few days off work. So I am goung to pull the dash and interior electrical and do the floor. I appreciate the offers guys, annd I may need it once I get to the instalation faze of the build. I still have questions about the engine harness integration, and speedometer wiring. I just need to get some of the crap work out of the way.

• Well, I said screw it and ordered the bracketry for the front of the engine. I kept going back and forth and finally decided on the alternator on pas. And power steering drivers side. Now I need a air conditioning pump. And an ls1 power steering pump plus pulley.

• Ok , have my pan, and my bracket kit for the accessories showed up friday. Ordered my injector connectors.
Now what about the maf? Do I use a truck maf? Or swap out for la1 style maf and iat?

• Either or, just need to make sure the MAF table matches whatever one you use.

• Mike, the reason I am asking is, from what I understand, the truck is a maf iat combo. I have none of those sensors but do have the wiring. I have a ls maf but no iat. Nor do I have the pigtails. So what way makes the most sense? I am using an ls intake and tb.

• You're using a truck harness, right?

Truck MAF is 5 pin, 3 are for the airflow portion and 2 are for the internal IAT.

If you want to use the 3 pin LS1 MAF then you will need to source connectors and a IAT sensor. Truck Mafs are cheap on ebay, I don't think I paid more than $25 for the 3 I've purchased.

• There ya go! Thinking my language....cheap! Lol. Cool. So either route is easy just different sensors to separate it. I was wondering how it was done, thanks for clearing it up for me.

I had one of the plug and play adapters from SLP. My LS1 harness was missing the IAT plug so I hard wired that and left the MAF side alone so I could unplug it for tuning purposes

• Hey since you are answering questions... are the plugs for tps ans iac the same truck to ls1 throttle body? Or will I need to wire in new pigtails for the ls tb ?
