I may have located the elusive missing drivers side floor pan! I spoke with a gent tonight who sounded like he had what I need. I love it when a plan comes together...potentially. I also have a line on the tail case for my trans coming. Soon there will be mocking up of drive trains! (add maniacal laughter here) Soon my pretty....Soon.....

Its here Nick. I just picked it up from the body shop yesterday. Had the rocker pannels fixed. I am just building another toy. Since the 94 is about done I needed something else to work on.

Tail shaft case or whatever you want to call it, was picked up yesterday from Richard @ D.G.B. Thank you Richard! Now I need a torque arm bracket for the ls style 4l60 trans. Alignment pins for the engine, and bolts. Why would you remove the pins? Still waiting on parts anyways
I have a running jeep again. That was a rough instalation. Might have cured me of wanting to swap in an L.S. type engine and trans. Well ....maybe.....

              lol, thanks Nick... I think......
Well, a sad update on the 86, T/A. I am considering scrapping this project all together. I purchased a bunch of used parts to try and salvage my investment in this car and only deepened the financial disaster this has turned into. I think it may be time to seriously think about selling what I can and junking the rest. Admitting that I allowed myself to get screwed is a bitter pill, but at least it will end the time and money suck this has become.
I wanted to build a driver, build, as in mechanical build, not try to salvage a bunch of rusty shit. Trying to rebuild a rusty piece of turd with parts of another rusty heap of junk is just not a fun time in my book. My can of turd polish is just not big enough for this task.

The best price I could find on floor pans is $200 a side. A 67-69 pan is like $60. But, I found a deal on some more "rust free", parts. FML! I don't know what all this brown stuff is but it sure looks like rust to me.
There is a particular 3rd gen parts specialty house, I called for a price on a used front drivers floor pan. $350.00 before shipping.... There is no other way for me to say this..... You sir, may suck it. Suck it fast, long, hard and deep. but in the end. Suck it.

So unless my motivation changes a whole bunch in the near future, I will have some 3rd gen parts for sale priced to move. I do have some good parts just not enough to build a drive train for

Sorry to hear about that, there are rust free cars you just have to find the good ones. Unfortunately a bunch of these cars were beat half an inch from the end of their lives and show it.

I appreciate the effort John. But I think its time to pull the plug. I could spend half a summer grinding, cutting and welding and still only end up with half a car. On top of that I would still need a Butt load of parts when I get done fixing the rust. for the rest of the stuff I need to finish it. Nah, life's to short for rusty cars.

                    • Well if you plan on putting parts up for sale I would like to pick through what you have. If your going to scrap the car I'll come pick it over and bring some pizza lol

Always a tough call. Probably should have done the same on my old 85, but I saw the project through. Took forever. More kitty hair than metal

Its not an easy decision for me. I could stay the course and see it through, fix it , paint it , do all the work. But that wasnt what I was going for. I was looking for a engine drivetrain project, not saving an old rustbucket. Been there done that. Didnt enjoy it. So its time to cut my loss. Karma can take care of the rest. Ill sell what I can this week ,the rest will go to the scrap yard.
So everything is for sale except the drive train parts.

                          • let me say Im not happy about this. However, I just cant throw this bucket of bolts to the curb, I have to much money in it to walk away from. So, even though its not what it was supposed to be, im going to go back to work on it. As an aside I have found a cheaper alternative for floor board. They come in sides, do not include the toe boards. $245.00 each. From Cla as ics to Customs. They are here in the metro area. And will have the Toe panels in 6 months or so. That being said, I am going to stay the course and continue on with my used floor pan. And I will be repairing it with sheetmetal. So say a prayer for my sanity, if you are of religious persuasion.

                              • Awesome, can't wait to see some updates. If you aren't doing a show car, you could always just patch the floors. That much for pans is rediculous.

you could also do the drivetrain and wait for panels to come up used.
