Yes the Strainer is replaceable by its self. And can be purchased seperately.Originally posted by GETGONE View PostYou have to drop the gas tank which is a pain in a 3rd gen. Not sure if the strainer is replaceable on these cars or if it's a manufactured part of the fuel pump.
NO you don't have to take out the rearend. I've had my tank out 3 or 4 different times, once just month ago and I've never dropped the rearend or even unbolted the shocks. You do however have to remove the exhaust, Panhard bar, brace and heat shields.Originally posted by b.a.camaro View PostI....and to replace the pump she needs to drop the rearend out because the gas tank sits over it .....Western Michigan Camaro Club ~ President

A lot of peope do it cause it frees up horse power, they claim. I dont think that it frees up a noticible difference, and if you take it off, when you let off the gas it will pop and crackle and just generally sound like shit.Originally posted by Zfenix View PostWhat? It will sound bad?

Ya, this puzzel was a PITA!
Robin figured some out on her own and I helped with the rest and with teaching.
She's not afraid to turn a wrench now.
