The car would run with a bad injector...or it should.

Not on Robin's car and here is why:
Her fuel injectors are all tied into one so when one goes the whole system goes out and the car will not run for more than 10-20 sec. so I have to test each one to find the bad one.

All valid points and I will check everything out good in the A.M.

CATS are a posibility and I will check them but not before I do a check on the TPS for voltage and check for any hard codes but I don't think there are any.

Okay, I see how that could cause some issues.

Just rip the cat off anyway.

The TPS sensor should throw a code when it hits that "dead spot", I would think.

          No it won't.

Kyle....First thing to do in the morning if it won't run...spray carb cleaner in the TB and se if it runs off that....that will give you a good indicator to where to start looking.

No? Does it just look at the voltage at idle?

No...unless the TPS has completely failed (ie open circuit)...which is very uncommon...most of the times they develop dead spots...but the dead spot are typically very small and translated over quick enough not to throw a code. Even if the TPS dead shorts it will not thow a code because the ecm will only see the 5volt reference signal.

                Ahh.

Mine set off a code in the winter (when it was like...negative degrees before wind chill), but that's because it had shifter, and was sitting at .27V...not the .45 it wanted to be at.

I would bet mine has dead spots, haha.

I've never had a TPS fail w/out a SES light, but hey Jame's sounds logical too. My experience with plugged cats is; over heating, poor throttle response and no power. If it is the cats, get rid of them. I removed them from my DDs long ago, doing Bird in the spring.

I have some advice. Why don't you tear out that V-6 replace it with a mild small block get some headers and a decent aftermarket catback system. That should fix the problem.

I don't think I have ever had one with a mil. most times there is a dip in the voltage curve and as long as its within the normal window of operation the pcm doesn't know any better.

O.k her is what I have come up with:

TPS was of a touch so I fixed taht.
Voltage was good from idle to WOT.

                          No Codes.

I started the car and heard a squeek so I looked and fond that the Altinator was making the sound.
Touched it and just about burned my hand
The car wasn't running for more than a minuet so I'm going to go and get it checked but I do belive that it's the problem.
I noticed that it stunk REALLY bad also.

I will let ya know how it turns out

Thats probably it, low battery voltage can cause all sorts of issues.

                              Altinator was junk, 5 volts.

New one and she is ready to roll
