      • It was just those two left in the inside of the lower intake. I got it out now. The lifter valley doesnt look too bad for 200k miles imo

            • It compression tested good and there was evidence of coolant getting into the #1 intake runner ... so I think im all set.

Niether have I! it was in one piece until I removed it. I tried to lift if off the pulleys when releasing the tensioner and it split.

                          • did you actually pull of the lower intake gasket and inspect it for the damaged area yet?
hard to tell in the picture you posted but like i said it should just be a lower intake manifold gasket, i knew i shoulda bought it when i had the chance

and replace the 2 plastic elbows, the one that goes into the lower intake manifold and the other...autozone sells a dorman help kit for like 3 bucks with both elbows.

Well, the gaskets were plastic... not sure what could have been damaged, I didnt see anything. but it didnt seem like they could have ever offered that good of a seal in the first place. The bolts were muddy and there was clear evidence of leakage all around.

You know i have been reading forums and Ive seen this "elbows" term mentioned all over the place and never knew what it was. I only see one elbow in the front though, where is the second one?
