The mistake most people make is not leaving enough inner core and it slips out from underneath the connector. The connector crimp itself usually isnt the problem from what ive seen with most failures. Hope this helps, Eric L

Than you use a set of wire crimpers and clamp them down. Usually when im done doin it with the wire crimpers, I go back over each side of the crimp (left and right tab that are folded over) with a pair of needle nose pliers and than give it a good tug..............good to go. Thanks. The MSD terminals have a special crimp end. I have the crimper tool. I did one set of wires and it didnt miss, so I should be ok lol.

The biggest PITA is trying to get the damn boot over the wire. soooooo frusturating

I use plenty of white lithium grease and di electric grease. It makes it nice and slippery. I might try the vise style crimper since I have every other one already. Something differant to try. Im in a trying differant things and building garbage mood lately, lol. Eric L

            I found this link: http://www.ls1lt1.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30390

            Looks like a good guide.

Purchased a EGR blockoff kit, ill get some 02 extensions next and I should be set for the header part of it.

Having the trans out of the way should make it pretty smooth....hopefully.

I have to say, those headers have a LOT more room on the drivers side than the Hookers. I saw some Hooker super comps the other day on an LT1 car and did not like them AT ALL. Didnt fit for crap. So far my favorite long tube, if i had to switch, would be the pace setters, which IIRC are what these are copys of. I will also say that it looks as if UNDER would be the best way to run the front 2 wires on the drivers side at least. Eric L

The problem i had with crimping the wires was getting the boots to slip over. They were simply too tight of a fit i tried everything. I ended up damaging the wires pulling them through. That. Was ny problem with the msds not the taylors. The taylors simply conducted voltage anywhere but the spark plug.

Die electric grease, or white lithium grease seems to work best for me. Slide the boot on before crimping the end on. It also helps to take the boot (if its 90 degrees) and use your thumb and index finger and flatten it out as much as you can. If you get enough lube on it it should slip in pretty easily. I wouldnt use WD40 as lube cause once it gets rubbed and dries out a little bit it seems to get sticky almost. DONT get it through than start tugging to get it the rest of the way through, cause it will cause it to bind up. Your better off PUSHING it through and pulling it only if it is nescessary to get it unkinked or something. Hope this helps, Eric L

The manifold gaskets use the outside set of bolts at the ends of the gasket, and the header gaskets use the "inside" bolt hole that is right up against the port.

Strangely enough my headers have both sets of holes at each end.

That IS strange - what brand? The LPP long tubes I put on my car and the Pacesetters I put on my dad's car both were set up the same way - the inner bolt holes that the manifolds don't use. Can see the pics here http://community.webshots.com/photo/...44180670lgLLlT

Yea I know, but it would be nice to have long tubes instead of BBK shorties.
