I love my MSD wires that are for an LS out of the avalanche because I bought the wrong coil brackets so I had to mount them on an angle and get extra-long plug wires to make them work. Looks cool though because all the wires are at an angle.Last edited by Fbomb; December 4th, 2010, 09:17 PM.

I dont know what to tell ya boss, lol. I even burned #6, wraped it with elec tape 4 years ago, and its still miss free. I will admit also that I have heard of problems with Taylors like you stated, but I have the 409 wires on the Valiant and the OVC kit on the SS and have never had a problem. I also had them on my 91 chevy pickup for around 100,000 miles and never missed a beat. My friend Shane had some cheapo 8mm taylors on his 81 Z28 that ran 10.00 on a 250 shot. We have had nothing but good luck with them. I personally, would rather route them under the headers, but ive had bad luck with that and its a pain to get 8mm wires to fit into the looms and they burn and its a hot mess, lol. Its all personal preferance............................or is this where im suppose to get all defensive cause you dont agree with me, lol. Oh nooooos, im a FAN BOY, NOOOOOOOOO. Im not denying anyone else's good experience, but personally id rip a cord out of a lamp shade and use that before i used another set of taylors.-Joel

Just make sure when you pull that lamp cord you crimp the ends onto it well, lol. Eric L

IMHO, you can make your own if you have some mad soldering skills, but since that particular circuit is very sensative to resistance, I would personally buy the extension harnesses. Eric L

To be honest im not sure. I have shorties so I didnt need any. Just make sure what ever you get, you make sure you ohm them out. We played hell with Kyles (phantom383). But another friend of mine from LS1tech BUTT CONNECTED his, lol. And they turned out fine, and the car was a freak. Im in a do it your self kinda mode, so this is what I would do. Get some plug ends, (female and male) and some push lock connectors for the plug ends from GM and the right guage of wire and do it up. If it gives you problems you can buy some, but i have personally built quite a few Gm push lock connectors and they all work flawlessly. Just my .02. Eric L

is this an art (not being sarcastic)? do you have any tips for me? I have done it once, but am going to shorten a set of plug wires I have this winter, and want to make sure I do it right. You leave PLEANTY of inner core hanging out of the end of the wire to wrap back and crimp underneath the connector. All this is done of course after you fight the boot onto the wire. Than you use a set of wire crimpers and clamp them down. Usually when im done doin it with the wire crimpers, I go back over each side of the crimp (left and right tab that are folded over) with a pair of needle nose pliers and than give it a good tug..............good to go.
