    • Hey Joel - are you going to need just a new engine harness or are you planning on repairing the harness you have?

      • After crawling all around the car last night I think the harness is fine. Just needs some reinsulation. The harness is eventually going to be replaced for 24x anyway, i just dont want to get into that project yet. My low oil sensor was the only connect that got signifcantly melted.

I prefer this style around vibration. Actually need the quick disconnect tool to remove, plus they have retainer clip just in case.

            • I wonder if i shouldnt switch to that style connector. I originally switched to threaded because i didnt even remotely trust the plastic quick connects the factory used, but a metal housing and clip changes things.

              • yikes!! I almost got those lines when i did my swap. I'm not positive but i think Huron Speed distributes them for EAA now.

                • Yes thats correct but I dont want to point the finger at EAA here. I installed the lines i may not have tightened them enough.

                  • Agreed - I don't think it'd be appropriate to place blame, since nobody knows what happened.

That being said, you'd be totally justified in being a little leery and wanting to swap them out to something like Mike posted. At least, I know I'd be leaning that way after all this.

                    • I would suggest using these as your fittings for those fuel lines.

nobody's placing the blame anywhere lol, but it's nice to know that if getting those lines it's not a bad idea to upgrade the fittings beforehand and then keep an eye on them.

                        • Pretty sure he will give you whatever fittings you want. I asked for threaded when i bought them because the original plastic quick connects on my car scared me. Something like Michael posted is a lot more like what a quick connect should be.

                          • I like the factory style but my car has a rubber piece that hugs the connector and covers everything. Never had an issue with it and I have taken it on/off several times last year when I had intake issues.

                            • Nowadays theres not a single thing wrong with quick connects. But there was a lot wrong with the factory 1995 quick connects... They were junk new let alone 15 years later.... Why i replaced them.

This is exsactly why I have one of these mounted in my car...

I hope I never have to use it.
