• Yeah. It looked real nice in person. I don't know if it is a hood for black cars though. Gotta get some pics first.

I'm sorta looking for one.. Not going to spend $600 for it. I'll find one on Craigslist eventually.

          • Lol thanks dude. I'm going to keep my eye out for one of these.

More pix of his car. It's the car that got me a LT1 money pit lol

            • I'm really thinking about lowering this thing. The parking lots just suck so much at OU.. Well I need the exercise so I'll park in the good areas.. which are far..

              What's the best drop?

              • Cut the stock springs, pick up new upper mounts and shocks and modify the mounts. Done. Check the thread in my sig.

                • Alright, lemme check it out. The shocks are KYB AGX. They have about 16k miles on them. Was looking at Strano springs too

                  • I read your thread Atrus about cutting the springs. You got a killer stance out of it. I'm all for saving $$$ but I really really like the stance of the car on stranos. I think that is the route I'm going this spring.

                    • you can set the stance to be whatever you want - just cut less. With Stranos, you're going to be taxing the shocks a lot more. Question whether you are going for the form or function. I'd find it hard to believe that Stranos wouldn't ride much more firm than my setup.

My point is, cutting the stockers allows you to get whatever height you want. It's also free. Stranos have been known to exhibit "saggy ass" where the rear looks lower than the front, even if by measurement it isn't. Strano has said that they are function over form - he's a great guy and I am not knocking him.

I'm just saying through my years of car modding I've learned that it's best to be honest to yourself about your wants and your intended usage. Bigger isn't always better, sometimes overkill can make things worse.

                      • My main purpose for this is to make it look better. The 4x4 look is starting to look poopy to me. No plans for autoX. I do want the car to feel firm, handle like it is on rails. I'm 20, a rocky ride doesn't bother me.

I'd rather save money than spend. Hell I'll cut them. I believe the spring rate is different between our two cars, but not by much..

Glad I bought LCA relos and adj PHB lol.

                            Agreed!

Spring rate may be a little different, but you're going to end up changing it (firming it up) by cutting the springs anyway.

So I guess I'll be cutting the springs this spring.

Time for some good news. I was averaging around shit gas mileage before with the shorties and cats. I'm averaging around 19-21 now with the LTs. Pretty pleased with the LT1 that could. I get better mileage than my park avenue lol
