So I spent some money. Jonny is a great guy! Lives right down the road from me! [emoji38]

    Couple questions..
What kind of gaskets do you guys recommend?
    Should I get header bolts?
Recommended spark plugs for the good ol' LT1?
    Anybody wanna help? Lol
    Thanks y'all

    • Honestly I would stick with OEM across the board...Gaskets, delco plugs, and bolts. You could always get the locking stainless header bolts those are nice...and a nicer NGK plug. Install advice get that thing as high in the air as you can

      • That's what my thought was too.. Nothing beats OEM unless its the rear end!
I'll probably just get either new bolts, or header bolts.. I forgot if I had new ones put in..

        Gonna be fun

              • I don't think I should drive my car for a bit.. I pretty sure my driver side header is cracked and leaking.. I've been getting really sick after driving it if the windows are not down... I can smell what I believe is exhaust too.. I didn't drive the car all weekend, and then I drove it today to school.. when I got home I just felt sick to my stomach.. Gonna park it I think and diagnose it more..

                • try spraying the headers with soapy water from the top and from underneath the car before they get up to operating temperature...could just be a loose header bolt or clamp.

                  • I'm going to try that tomorrow I think. I've noticed like a deep gouge on one of the primaries.. can't get a good look at it. but I bet that's where is it leaking. My guess is that was caused because of a hot cold cycle because I drove the car in 30° weather a few times. Who knows.
I honestly hope they are cracked. Gives me more of a reason to put the LTs in..

ohhhhh I thought you meant the new ones you got were cracked. eh I wouldn't sweat it then. curious to see how smoothly your install goes. halfway considering doing the same thing in the near future...

                      • oh the new ones are at my other house currently. No time to put them on. But from what I've been reading, the fitment is very good. They supply like a half inch copper gasket, which i didn't get nor do i want. With them they touch the frame rail a little. Requires some "massaging". Supposedly when you switch to a felpro 1406, that issue is resolved.
It's just getting it in the air for me. Gonna put the backs on tires and jackstands up front i think.

You should do headers man. no reason not to

                        • How do you get the EGR blockoff plates on? Doesn't look like much room back there..

                          • I was just going to say if you're doing plugs you'd have a better time just dropping the whole k-frame assembly out. Let me know how it goes with those ARP header bolts. I have locking bolts and I can honestly say that I have never checked the bolts since I installed the headers. I probably should sometime just to make sure they're good.
