The parts bill will really add up quick! I have some parts left over from a few hybrid swaps - LS1, L99, LM7, and Holley stuff

I still have your PCM, so come and get it, I may also have some extra things you will need for the swap, we can work out a package deal

Yes there is soooooo much that goes into that swap. That is why I choose not to do one at this time, plus its not the cheapest either.

He said he needed cash more than a new engine.. He has a 355 in his Camaro now and is gonna just stick with that

Its not just a simple swap and I think he realized how much more is involved cost wise and decided against it

Sounds like a great deal to me, especially with harness and ecm.

Find out why the exhaust manifold bolt is missing. If I remember correctly some of the 5.3s had problems with the exhaust manifold bolts breaking off. If the seller has tried to remove the bolt without success I'd shy away (meaning he in some-way messed up the threads in the head.). If it's broken off and still in the head I wouldn't be as concerned, it'll just require some cautious work getting it out.

On another note, the t56 is going to cost you an arm and a leg. So try and get the price down on this as much as you can.

I talked to the guy last night, he needs a distributor which I so happen to have.. so he is going to trade me the engine for my distributor and $300 cash which ends up only being about $600.. which seems like a really good deal.

yea.. the T-56 will be a little pricey.. but I've seen them go for like 1200.. so I just need to sit and wait haha!

I have someone offering to sell me a 5.3 that they pulled from a 2003 Tahoe with 88k miles on it. its a complete engine with wiring harness and computer.. only problems it has is 1) no starter and 2) missing one exhaust manifold bolt. he is asking $800 for it and lives about 2 hours away from me..

$800 is more than I wanted to pay.. but the mileage is nice..

im going to try and pick it up for $600 I think.. does that sound reasonable?
