Dont know how ive missed this thread. So did you rebuild the 80e? Stock build or something special or upgraded? Havent touched mine yet but got a price of $130 for complete rebuild kit but might upgrade a couple things. Also havent decided on a stall or size of stall. Lmk how you like yours. Track day? Lmk

    Larry's idea worked flawless.

    Dipstick is in
    Trans is fully bolted up
    Converter is bolted up

Things that are left to do:
    Shifter cable install and adjustment
Install cooler lines - waiting on a low profile 90* fitting for the rear of the trans
    Install drive shaft
    Fill trans with fluid
    Upload tune
    Do burnouts

How much room you need ? Put a jack under the pass side of the kmember and loosen the bolts . May need to loosen the driver alittle.

Trans mount isn't in - so you are suggesting dropping the kmember eh?

It wouldn't be so bad if this trans was a little lighter - my god took all a could to do get it on the pins.

Now it's gotta come back down and I get to do it all over again

madman is a hard tube and any of them plain suck to put it, gotta hope it stays in place while you put the trans up in the car, just a PITA. The lokar is nice that its flexible but as you mentioned a pain to fill.

Yes it's that tight. No room to move it up - as it hits the body.

I made the mistake of painting it - and now it looks like crap.

Is it that tight of a fit? My lokar was a breeze to put in, but it's a bastard.to fill.

Is the madman one a solid fill tube? My lokar that I just put in last night is super flexible and did it with the trans in the car. I've never heard of a problem like that before.
