If you're going to use stock wheels why did you roll the fenders?

I rolled the fenders because the tool was available and it gives me the option to use wider tires in the future.
It was a good idea as much of the paint flaked off which is fine as I haven't painted it yet.
I still haven't decided what wheels I will use but if I use 13 brakes in front I will use 17" Z06 wheels If I used 12" brakes I can use the stock 16"

Heat Extractor hood proposals.....
For those not familiar with heat extractor hoods- like the C7 corvette the hood is recessed to create more downforce/less lift while giving the radiator better air flow. The 1.5" tape in the front will be 2-3" down and the lines on the edge gradually fade out untill they are flush with the hood.
The center line will be flush with the hood for strength.
Option 1

Option 2 (Z28 hood reversed) This would be the easiest but I am leaning towards option 1 as it follows the shape of the hood.

My OEM Z28 SMC hood has been painted MANY TIMES! Weight difference Steel hood ~60 lbs, OEM Sheet molded compound hood ~45 lbs. weight savings= ~15 lbs

your z28 style looks to be backwards, id vote on that though, the other style even though it follows the lines looks very out of place.91 Trans am, 305, Lt1 cam, 24lb injectors, headers, SLP LM2, SW chassis, massive panhard, lowered, modded TPI, Tuned, 4.10s, Lincoln locked

I would have measured about 18" in from all the outside edges (side, front, side) to follow the lines of the car, forming a small peak in the front (kind of like the shape of the carbon fiber on the ZL1 hood)

Function>Form
Are you making this car meet SCCA requirements? If so, I remember there being a section about limitations on heat extractors, and not being able to see any of the engine compartment through them. Can't really remember what class it was specific too though. Might be something to look up.

I like that idea! however the lower "scoop" will not have the point so it will better grab the air from the radiator.Originally posted by hoogiesngrinderz View PostI would have measured about 18" in from all the outside edges (side, front, side) to follow the lines of the car, forming a small peak in the front (kind of like the shape of the carbon fiber on the ZL1 hood)
