Greg is you need a new bumper reinforcement/crash bar i may just have one for you at some point over the winter.. i'm making a custom one over the winter at some point and wont need my stock one..
looks like this with larger openings then a stock one

not sure yet.. car is coming apart in the next week, then back together and then off to the chassis shop.. and then when i get it back.. so prob end up january-ish?

Youre seriously going to go through all the work of changing roofs? Is your time not included in the 'on-a-budget?' I'd just put a cage in for the rigidity before Id mess with that

id personally do it for looks. imo hardtops are way better looking. i personally never really liked my ttops it wasnt all that great with the sun beating done on you in the summer. the reason i had them is that the girlfriend liked them thats about it.
i personally wouldnt want the glass covering me if they decided to shatter on an impact but its his choice just my views of it.

I have not decided 100% on the roof swap, but I am not committed until I cut off the t-top bar. It looks like a bigger challenge than I thought but If I take it on, I am sure I will learn some things.
