R series are the drag shocks - compression stays stiff and rebound is adjustable.

The f series is the street/strip shock - compression and rebound is adjusted together.

I've the F's and they ride nice, but I wish I had the R's

I think my springs are 300#

I also wish I had the spring bearing - makes them way easier to adjust.

Correct.. I have the bearings also, makes adjusting much easier..

Wow! fastest moving "winter" project I've seen. Jim you have to much energy or time or both. LOL Everything looks wicked.


EDIT: It took me 3 days of planning just to cover my bird in the garage.

I'd have to say, I think this is the best "build"/"Project" thread i've ever seen. Basing off quality of explanation/pics/and time elapsed vs work done. Very impressive.

I realize this may be off topic a bit, but Chad (fish-man) turned me on to a used sail/targa to replace my bubbling one that I currently have on the car. I'm sure it will be a joy getting the old one off!









Next while waiting for parts, I fabbed-up a partial close-out panel for the rad support. It still needs lots of sanding and paint.

To an extent, you have to cut it off. I'm just going to cut mine down the center and then cut the adhesive rom each side which should make it easier, I hope.

Hey Chad, I used 1/8" black ABS. It is thin enough to form easily around anything. I am contemplating adding another piece to the area also.

Yes, I replaced mine 2 years ago. Remove old panel with flatbar, remove old glue, apply new glue and slap replacement panel on.

Here ya go Jim, piece of cake.. Finished pics are towards the end of thread.. Still bubble free..
