your welcome, glad you got them out without any issues, getting the new lowering springs in will be a crap ton easier lol. post some pics when you get a minute if you have the new springs in there already

They are in we just broke a bolt fr the strut, going to track one down today and put the front together, then continue to the rear springs.

So lets get this back on track, I havent touched the car (before tonight) in over 2 weeks, I kinda got down and depressed about it and really beat myself up over it. Hasnt been quite the picture perfect project but what one ever is? I once remember a wise member on here that once said "Its not about having the fastest or best looking car its about the time spent with friends and making memories" or something to that extent I lost track of this mind frame and really let myself get bummed about it.

I feel your pain buddy. Sometimes it's best to take a break and walk away. Lord knows I've had to walk away ALOT on mine. Ironically a guy on Tech said something similar to me...."it's the journey, not the destination". The good thing is, you're re-energized and back at it!

Keep pluggin....it'll get done. Though I would encourage you to not compromise in too many of your expectations....you'll end up being bummed out afterwards for other reasons.

Ok motivational speech over.....suppose I'll go back outside and fight with mine.

Front springs are done, will these settle a little more?

Measure about 1.25 inch drop from initial measurement with the other springs.

The beauty of project cars lies not in the destination, but in the journey. One of the main reasons I could never bring myself to part with my Firebird is because of all of the great memories I have working on it with my Dad and some of my friends. It was also the first car that I had to work on without professional guidance, since all of my previous cars, if I had a question, I always had Dad here to answer it. Now, I'm running the show alone, which is very stressful, but at the same time, serves as a great ego boost. After you spend all day fighting that one bolt that just won't come out, finally succeeding really boosts morale. haha

One thing I've learned over the years, is that compromise leads to doubt and regret. Don't compromise, this car is being built to satisfy a need, one that only you can fulfill. Build the car the way you want to. Don't rush it, because things get overlooked that way. Don't allow depression and doubt slow progress, because it's the little victories that keep things moving.

Once the car is on the road, looking better than ever, and you are finally in the driver's seat cruising, all will be right with the world, and the sense of pride in your accomplishments will make it all worthwhile. All the busted knuckles, late nights of wrenching, swearing, and boozing, will suddenly feel worth it. The car will be yours, and nobody can take the memories from you.

Keep the faith, brother, and if I ever get my heap to the point that I would trust it to make the trip, I would gladly come lend a helping hand on your project.

they are Intrax springs, picked them up for cheap so cheap I couldnt pass them up. I love the front right now, once I get the inner wheel wells back in I am sure the look will be fine. Cant wait to see what the rear ones do.

The beauty is completely in the journey and what a journey it has been so far. But I am not 100% happy with it and already know that I wont be for a while. I am trying to keep a positive out look on it and I am hoping to enjoy it the way it is now. This was a learning experience too since I have never held a paint gun before this and I painted my own car, so why should I have expected it to be perfect? It has character but at least I can say that Jon and I did it with our hands. I just can not afford to have it painted again (even by me) so it is what it is at this point. I just cant wait to drive the shit out of it!
