    • Thanks Ken, like Jon said any way to get some others made? I had a guy that was going to make some but he has since flaked out on me...

Any idea where I can get just the rear bumper emblem? Also has anyone noticed that my side ground effects the RS is in SILVER and the rear bumper is in RED? Whats the deal with that? What are they suppose to be? Since my other ones are silver I am thinking about putting a silver emblem on the rear bumper, how will that look?

Getting a new spoiler from Curt as we speak, thanks to BigJon for willing to meet up with him, also getting some new door locks and some T-Tops to practice refinishing on.

Hoping to paint tonight if the weather is ok, humidity right now is my main concern, so we will see. Should have painted last night but my wife's truck decided to break a tie rod instead.

for a white car in the next day or so.

      • Get crackin! What reducer do you have? I sprayed a coat of black using medium reducer and it took too long to flash with this humidity. The fender looks 99% straight, there are a two very small spots that should flatten out during the color sanding.

        • Hey at least my car looks like a car again, I thought that was a step in the right direction. I have no idea what kind of reducer, ask Jon, Its all PPG stuff and its the paint supplies he bought for his car then he changed colors, so I bailed him out by buying it off of him... although he hasnt been paid yet

EDIT: I do know its a slow reducer so not sure what that means. Plan is still to spray epoxy primer tonight and 3 coats of base followed by 3 coats of clear on the car! Fenders on back!

          • It means how fast the solvents come out of the paint. Slow reducer is meant for higher temperatures, but when sprayed in lower temps you will have to wait longer between coats. Flashing too fast is the biggest thing to worry about though, as it will trap the solvents in.

            • I am still hoping to spray white tonight, I just want this car one color! Then I can finish up the hood and smaller pieces and start assembly. I think I am going to have to play with my drivers side fender, or it could be my antenna getting in the way... not sure yet.

:spitlaugh: Hell no! I was trying to make it my dead line but decided not to rush it and mess something up. I will still try but highly doubt it, I just dont have enough time to get it back on the road. If it does by some chance it will go not completed. There is no way I will have the stripes on it by then. I still have a lot of work to do and the interior is still pretty much gutted, and the car has been a part for a while now I am hoping I know how it goes back together.

Planning on touching one thing up then spraying clear tonight... Killing me going to be a late night. Still doesn't look too white to me, jon is calling me color blind, hope the clear makes it shine!

                      • If you goofed up something, its easier to fix it before you clear, so take the time now, what kind of goof up did you ?

                          • Could be the light throwing the look of the color off too, 3 coats of color is plenty, cant wait to see it uncovered in the morning, do you have heat to "bake it" ?

                              • So the car is WHITE! About time... however no clear on the car (paper work said I had 24 hours from base to spray it). I brushed the hose up against wet paint about a 3 inch section, it looked bad. Waiting for it to dry and sanded it down and it still didnt look right, we tried to make it look good and just kept fighting with it. I made the decision to push my luck and come back this afternoon completely sand it out and then lay clear tonight, still way in the 24 hour window since the last coat of base went on just before 2AM this morning.

The lighting is bad so its hard to see, but the car is white!

Hopefully it will be nice and glossy tonight.
