Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

So wet sand is next on this part of the car... Link me to some products to use to polish the car please someone tell me a good process here. Also Joel where you serious about letting me borrow a buffer? If not I need to get one, suggestions?
Buy some 2000 paper let it soak for a good 15 min before using it. Use water with soap. Like car wash soap. Sand untell all orange peal is gone then 3000. Then a 3m white foam pad with some fine cut compound. Then black 3m foam pad with swirl remover. Don't wax it!!!!!
Yes I was serious about letting you borrow the buffer! You'd be in for another $400 by the time you bought all the pads and polish!
I normally use meguiars because its convenient. But, 3M and Wizards is also good if not better.
You will really only need 3 polishes. Fine cut (I would even try to skip this), Swirl Remover, and a final polish. I have wetsanded my car before with 2000 and then skipped right to a yellow pad (harshest foam) with swirl remover. If you can do that it'll be a breeze. I can provide you the final polish since i have gallon of it and that stuff goes forever.
With both wet sanding and buffing. You are ALWAYS better using too fine of a paper/polish than you are too harsh. When you go too harsh, you get to do an entire additional lap around the car correcting all the hairline scratches and swirls. You are much better off working slower with a fine stage, than fast with a heavy stage. In the end, you'll get done faster going slower
im with joel i always started off with 1500 then went to 2000 grit. i also use dawn dish soap mixed in the water when wet sanding it works the best at not letting the sand paper clog up. as far as sand paper i love useing black ice i think its made by 3M it dont crease very easy.
a soft block of rubber or even a cheap dollar store spung works well for wraping the paper around and helps the paper fallow the contours of the car vary well. stay away from the edges and never sand using your fingures or your hand as it will leave inpression in the clear. im sure someone who paints or details will have a better process than mine, all i know is my way has deffenatly yeilded some great results.
with my car i cheated alittle when i had all the orange peal knock'd down i loaded the car up and to it to detailer and let them wheel it
Thanks Joel I'll have to meet up with you sometime soon. I'll be wet sanding next week. Any rule in how fast I have to polish or can I set sand the whole car and come back and polish it?
