Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Your invited! Whoever comes better bring some fresh arms because this will all be hand sanded. I am sure Jon and I will be tired tomorrow.
I will say, I can now 100% understand why people pay to have this type of work done. Although its not hard, its just A LOT of work. Paint, mix paint, watch the clock, clean the gun, paint, mix paint, etc etc, I think (amateur here) it came out well? Started off a little sketchy and had to make a call to semi pro painter Curt for some advice, which I would like to thank him for getting us back on track. Jon and I went at it again after a first failed attempt and now it looks pretty good IMO. I am eager to see what it looks like tomorrow once its all dry and we can sand.
We also applied a "guide coat" which is not pictured here because its not all pretty but I am hoping that helps us with our high and low spots.
The black you see in the first few pictures was this "guide coat" we were recommended to lay down, IMO it turned out to be a waste or we didnt use it right. But we followed the directions and did what we were told. Then we sanded the majority of it off and laid some more primer down.

A light sand this week and base coat on Friday!
That's the whole purpose of a guide coat. You sand it all off so you know where the high/low spots are. You keep applying and when all the guide coat comes off at the same time - voila! Flat surface.
Lookin good guys. Also guide coat is used to go Im to the pores of the primer to make sure it's all smooth/ sanded. I used it for all different grits including 500. Also next time use guide coat as just a dusting then it won't be such a ***** to get off. And call with and call with any other questions.
Thanks Curt you have been a great deal of help via phone advice during this! We sanded the primer with 320 and 400, we will be doing the same on this last coat of primer as well.
Plan is to push the car out tomorrow as long as the weather is good, spray some primer on the hood and fenders and other pieces and while that is drying be outside sanding down the primer on the car... Trying to get ready to spray at least the car on Friday!
