not going to lie one or two have just been "cut off" when I was working on the drivers side plugs I noticed a plug that appeared to be for the T-Stat or something like was just melted and burned from the headers just tucked up under some vacuum lines, I took on look at it and cut it thinking I wasnt going to mess with that melted mess.

I can totally see that they installed this 350 for with the old 305 harness, although it has a different computer and chip in it now its clear some things were half done. Although for how well the motor runs they must not have done a too bad of a job. Therefore my goal is to get rid of some of these random lines and hoses and tune this engine up and drive it all summer long and then worry about upgrading to that old carb SBC or LS transplant

    • I'll try my best with what's in my head...remember that I'm going off MAF TPI knowledge here:

There should be three lines coming up on the driver side rail, just cap the vent line and run a vented cap. Remove the vacuum lines.

On my car there is a separate vacuum line that runs along the firewall, up to the front of the driver side fender. There is a T fitting, one goes to the vacuum ball mounted down low in the fender and the other goes to the cruise control diaphragm.

I'm fine with waiting for the hardware.

Pretty sure I said this before, but please know that these spacers will push the wheels out pretty far. The wheels will fit at the stock width in the rear, the front needs a 1/2" spacer to sit right for stock. 1" spacer up front and 1.25" in the rear should put them very close to the wheel well. It gets very confusing when you compare stock offets to what offsets are needed to fit within .xx" from the lip, etc.

I'm going to play around with the spacers I have (1", 1.5", 2") so I can find the best fit on my Camaro. I'll let you know what I come up with and what's left. If I stick with what I have, I will sell these 1" for...$65? Shipping included in that price.

      • Keep me posted Micheal that is what I was going to do, play around with spacing until I found what I liked best, that was my plan all along. I should be out in the garage this weekend if I get to removing the canister I will take pictures and you can tell me exactly what you need and I will be glad to ship it over to ya.

            • Removed the Charcoal Canister and cruise control last night... Michael I did not notice any brackets when removing this? Was just a few bolts that held it down in the tray. Shoot me a picture of what you need and I will gladly send it your way.

Everything is back in and ready to go expect plug wires, I had enough with those ACCEL cut your own length crap, I am returning those and just going to spend the money on some pre cut MSD wires today. Put the wires on, figure out my fan issue and start the car and see how she runs with the improvements. But I have to finish cleaning up the wiring harness, get a filter to cap the hard line from the gas tank and find a vented gas cap still.

They are nice when you have the correct tools to make them. I have seen too many cars with a missfire due to a burned through plug wires because it was too long and was contacting the primary tube

                      • I have a set of almost brand new MSDs (been on my car since the new motor) that I'm looking to switch out. I thought red would work well, but the color is too light compared to my engine block/valve cover paint. I'd rather have the black wires now.

                          • I think I paid $88 to get them to my door. I think my dad just threw away the box for them As you can see, they just don't look right.

$100 for them and two 1" spacers? I'll even throw in those hubcentric spacers for free haha.

                            • She runs! Michael I actually had to return the wires I bought (didnt notice they were straight boots) and bought MSD wires so I wont need the ones that you have. I wanted to start the car tonight so I bought the wires and got the tools and Jon and I put them together (well Jon mainly did...)

Started the car up once I got a good battery in it filled the radiator up with antifreeze, no leaks and the new heater core seemed to be working great (didnt let it run too long) Sounded much better to, no miss and the header leaks seemed to be solved too!

Now just going to finish working on the wiring harness, closing up loose ends that are lingering and then back to body work. I have to find a better way to run the spark plug wires as well, wish my valve covers where the style I could run the OTVC wires...
