Oh...sweet! Haha, that's awesome. I don't recall my radiator being bad - my car always stayed at a good temp...

    • your oil will tell if theres bigger issues. what temp does the tstat open up at? maybe you should find one with a lower temp? does your clutch fan still work properly, or did you have electric?

I know it will, it looked fine last night checking the dipstick but it needs to be changed anyhow. The T-Stat is a 180 I believe (stock) I dont think I put a 160 in there last year. The fan is electric, it was always running last night.

        • I have baught a couple faulty thermo stats in the past......

You can drop on in a small pot of water, and heat it up, and see if its opening all the way.

Sometimes they dont open all the way, and you get hot- but dont over heat.

I guess this can be true, I will pull it out tonight and put it in a pot of boiling water to test it. Would be nice if that's what it was.

Factory fans wired into the ignition, when car is running fans are running.

That white grill with the red bowtie is what I was thinking as well. I have been looking for another grill in my spare time. I have a few grills but none with the bowtie at my house.

              • I think you either need to go all black or all white when it comes to the buckets and grille. I like how the white looks.

Are you sure you have them wired right? If you wired them backwards they will spin the wrong way and not pull air thru the radiator.

I am tending to agree, I am just not sure what direction to go into. I was planning on having the buckets going back to black, now after seeing the picture Gary posted I am unsure cause I am liking that grill white...

Yes, the fans are pulling the air and blowing towards the engine, this is correct right? My hand is in front of the fan (in between the fan and motor) I can feel the air. Correct?

I would be happy if it was running at 220* last night without the heat on...

                            • Replaced tonight:

                              Radiator
                              Water Pump
                              Caliper slide bolts
                              Oil Change

Remaining issue - Shitty F-Body GAUGES! (or the wiring to the gauge and sensor)

Car runs and it runs COOL! Brian calmed my nerves with his fancy temp gauge reader tool thing and we concluded that my car is running at a cool 175-180* at all times even though the gauge is reading 220-230*

Good news is I can drive the car, I will worry about ^^ later!
