this dyno sheet below is ms4 with mild port 243 heads

this is after a prc cnc ported with larger valves ls6 head along with more compression by thinner head gasket.

same stuff as above but with a fast intake

the ms4 dose have a advertised power band from 2300-6800rpms with supporting mods,(proper heads/intake/throttle body/tuning)
allan is fighting a couple problems and there not even problems, 1. you can put on a bigger flowing intake and keep a stock throttle body it will still choke it air intake, there will be a slight gain but not as much as if it had even a port TB. 2. his gears are all wrong for the combo, and he will get to that in due time.
with his setup he has time to grow with motor as he puts saves and puts the supporting mods on to reach his goal...
take a look at those sheets.. peak HP continues to grow up to 6600 not at 6k

Youre all wrong, set the shift points to 2k and then Vtec will kick in yo!Originally posted by Yoshi94Mines about an inch bigger than Kyles. I need to get one of thosesigpicOriginally posted by ryanwarby01Put it this way, if you have a money tree a LT1 is a wood chipper!

I'll talk with the tuner about bumping up those shift points. It's nice that he goes to all the local T&T's to help any customers with their tunes if they want, so we'll be able to see some real world results if there are any.
We could easily try bumping up the shift point by 100 RPM for each run til it starts to slow down. The weak point on the motor is the pushrods / lifters at this point in regards to RPM, but I'll be doing LS7 stuff when the heads go in soon so it should be safe to spin to 7k, but I doubt we'll need to go even close to that high.
I'm happy with where it's at now though. I'll be taking care of a few maintenance things soon to try and get into the 11's with the current setup and tune.

Didn't you put new pushrods in with the cam swap? The lifters should be fine.
100rpm intervals might be a bit much - start at 6200 then go 6400, then maybe a 100 at a time.
Read this http://www.mifbody.com/vbulletin/sho...l=1#post737208 and you'll see how much I gained from upping the shift points. I doubt you'll see that much in an auto car - but you should find 2-3 mph easy2000 Formula

That's a big no no - the stock pushrods are junk. Could be part of the reason the power falls off, they might be flexing with the aggressive cam/springs.Originally posted by Sleeper View PostNah, stock pushrods. We knew with these heads it wouldn't spin high anyway.
Put some pushrods in it ASAP - they are only $1002000 Formula

he did what he could with parts at the time. he knew he needed pushrods and lifters but like many people was trying to get his toy going. with that intake i would say 6400 rpm would be fine i was under the inpression it was a plastic ls6 intake.
allan you keep up the good work. your doing just fine. iv seen alot of people on this forum alone that shaved a few corners in the name of trying to get there car done to a certian point and upgrade later. just like all forums there 1000 so called engine tech that have there point of view. you'v been running the hell out of this thing and its just keeps coming back for more. but trust me one day it will break.

your right! with porting and so on. this car has nothing more than a shelf cam and intake and headers. he will get there... you gotta start somewhereOriginally posted by c0ncEpT View PostYou sure do blame a lot on the heads. They've been 10.86 in a stock internal car before. There is a shit ton of MPH and ET left in that car without even touching the heads.
