Hey Brent, we were hoping to have it running by now but we had to quickly get it ready for the next paint process (quarters, shut faces and roof). So, unfortunately we'll have to wait a little longer to hear sounds come from the thing...Originally posted by OVRKILL View PostYou have a date to fire this thing? Thanks, and yea we are rather fired up about this thing and how it's turning out soo far.
Well today we loaded the "hulk" onto a trailer and delivered it to "the painter." This looks like a pile of crap that should be taken to a junk yard compared to how it looked a few days ago. I wanted to cover it up leaving the driveway so the neighbors didn't think that we are running a "chop shop."

We swapped the door for the body from "the painter" and it looks pretty good prior to sand and polish.

We FINALLY finished up on the brake/suspension detail and installation, front and rear! This took longer than planned. Still waiting on painter to finalize the door so then the body can go bye-bye.

Yea your right Larry, I thought I would load everything and then do my final ride height adjustments.Originally posted by Plum Nuts View Postwow looking good, those doors weigh in at probably 150 lbs for the 2, rest of front is all plastic stuff though, I would be suprised if front comes down a 1 or 2 inches.
Today I wanted to prep the roof & rear quarters in case my painter buddy calls me and says he's ready. He should be getting close with the final door.
I knew it wasn't going to look pretty, but I long boarded it and definitely the quarters were repaired in its younger life. (Dirty job!
) I still need to do the shut faces (doors and hatch) tonite, maybe!
By the time the painter is done, it should be straight as a glass table.

Thanks guys!
A little more progress today. It took longer to put the darn front suspension together the in did to install the engine!
We wanted to get this thing on the ground today and roll it out of the garage for a little "mind candy."

Finally, after 6 months of being couped-up in the garage, the project sees the "light-of-day"
We put the front fender in place to see how the stance looks. The front is 1" higher than the rear. I cut about 1 1/2" of both front and rear springs. I like the rear look but the front needs to come down further. Although, with the new poly bushings, lack of doors and other weight, it may drop a little further than what it is now. I will wait until I install everything and drive it a bit to see if it will drop further. We definitely want to suck it down further.

So far, no clearance issues with the Kooks headers. We'll see what happens when it comes down another inch.

I tried to "tuck away" the proportioning valve.

Don't ask me why I installed this!
