Fuel rail came out looking damn good for the little time I put in it, maybe an hour or so with some SUPER old detailing supplies, I used a can of never dull from 82 with some simonz chrome polish that I kid you not had a date of best if used by 1967!

Probably would have looked better or went faster if I used some newer stuff and a power ball or cone, but this stuff was all I could find in the shop, all the good stuff was at home, those that have ever been over know what I'm talking about, lol.

Trying to figure out if I can upload a pic from Android.....

Straight from the phone you'd have to use an app to upload to photobucket or flickr or something and then you can use the img code to post it here. Same problem with the iPhones.

Long block assembled, seems like it took forever, wiping out all the cylinders, cleaning out bolt holes, proper tq sequence, etc. But the hard parts done!

Got to throw the timing and valley cover on, bolt up the oil pan and accessories, and drop it in the cradle, might call it quits at that point, pretty tired. Dont want to be like last year and doing my first start at 3AM with open headers, lol. I cant believe the neighbors have never complained.

Anywho, on to what you actually care about, lol

I'm excited about this build. No doubt it will make 400 at the wheels and run an 11.xx

Motor is all assembled, intake to oil pan and everything in between. First thing in the morning motor and trans become one and theyll be attached to the k member. Baring anything extreme, it will be running tomorrow.

Did some touch up work type stuff today, alot of painting etc, so other than the fully assembled motor, not much to look at.

One to hold you guys over till videos tomorrow!

Note the polished fuel rail? Im pretty happy with the results!

You gonna repaint those valve covers while the motor is out too?

Those are the ones off of the old motor, they cleaned up really well, so ill be running those for now, but ill ne taking the valve covers I got with the 6liter to get powdercoated in the next weeks of as soon as I figure out what color to do them. Might stick with red to match the stb, and I'm probably going red with the interior leds so that should help tie things together.

Looks great so far Spencer. What all do you have to do, if anything, for converting the engine harness to work with the 6.0 liter instead of an LS1?

                                nothing.
if it was a newer engine you need an extension to plug in the cam sensor and knock sensors
