Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
Clutch: I am at a toss up between like a Stage 3 or 4 clutch or a Sintered Iron Disk clutch.
I guess the Sintered Iron Disk is crazy at clamping force not street friendly, will hold 1008ft lbs. I read its suppose to be the ultimate clutch besides going twin disk. Sintered cost 600 and a twin is like 1200.
The Stage 4 will hold up to 762ft lbs. Also not street friendly due to harsh engagement.
The Stage 3 will hold up to 845ft lbs with the Plus upgrade and says offer good daily driveablilty.
This car is not going to be strictly a drag car but it is not going to be a daily driver. It's gonna see some track time but also gonna see a lot more street, mostly weekend events.
Flywheel:
Stock, billet steel or aluminum.

Put it this way, if you have a money tree a LT1 is a wood chipper!
spec 3 does not offer good driveability. come drive mine if you want to see for yourself. Im not sure about the 3+ though, mine is just the standard 3.
not many options for LT1s.... honestly ive always wondered if its possible to convert to an LS1 input shaft so i could use an LS1 clutch... so many better options for LS1s.
if not, im probably going to change mine out in favor of a mcleod street twin.
As much as it takes to get there. Ball park right now is 10K.
Pick two of the following:
Cheap
Fast
Reliable
I sure hope you dont think the 10k is enough for the whole build. Maybe for the motor/trans combo. 10k isnt even close to what you will need to do what you want
Alright so its gonna be a little more expensive then I thought hahaha. Well that's why this doesn't have a time frame, it gets done when it gets done. Hahaha.
Ryan are you running a LTCC?

well for me that is the one big thing that makes LS1 > LT1. It certainly isnt the horsepower difference considering I was beating LS1s with just a set of headers
