Update:
Car is still sitting in the garage, under a cover. Clutch worked out great, nice and grabby. Drove it about 1k miles all of 2011. Still has a 10-bolt...
Have installed my FAST 92 with new TB as well, figured out a clever trick to still be able to keep my coolant crossovers (don't know where the pics are). Felt strong as a mofo the one time I pulled on it, the one time ALL SUMMER!
Plans for 2012:
X-piped duals dumped before axle, have yet to figure out mufflers...is there space between the floorboards and the rear to fit flowmaster 44's? Might have to get creative.
Lower it; need suggestions on shocks, struts, springs etc. Right now thinking Bilsteins and maybe stranos if I can get them for a good price.
New wheels; 18x10 Budnik (G5's?) Thanks to OIF1VET
*Maybe actually get a new rear.
Also have to either fix my radio or remove it entirely, monsoon amp kind of died and won't turn on anymore. Easy enough I guess.
Also planning on driving it more this summer, as I make an attempt to sell my current daily driver and get another one to tinker with.
Used to own a Firebird.

Sounds good Vinnie! Can't wait to see what your car looks like with dumped exhaust.
Stranos are good, but lowered the rear of my car too much, so I added heater hose to them. Do you really even have room to lower the rear with that drag setup?
Joel runs true duals with full sized mufflers under the floor boards I think, but his car is at stock height.
And
to driving your car more this summer!

I don't have room to lower the rear with the drag setup, but I am selling the summit stars and putting on some 18's (going to be a more streetable car again, for a few years). Joel told me he had to beat in his floorboards to fit the ovals under his car; honestly if I had a gas mig I would probably remove the rear seats and cut and patch reliefs. From looking at pictures though, I might be able to move them further back and get them tucked into that space between floorboards and the rear.Originally posted by Lucky SOB View PostSounds good Vinnie! Very nice car! I agree about the rear, I wouldn't lower it too much in the rear with your drag setup.
If I might make a suggestion, keep the stock springs, remove the isolator in the rear and just use the heater hose. In the front, get whatever shock you want but keep the stock springs and get the BMR lower control arms that lower the front by 1". Best of both worlds for a setup like yours IMO. I did Konis with the lower perch in the front in addition to those LCAs, so basically I'm lowered 1.75" in the front while still having the stock springs. Rides great and the stance is awesome. You probably don't need that much lowering though, I only later added the lowering LCAs because apparently mine sits abnormally high in the front.
Here's a pic of the stance that gave me with stock springs all around: (click to enlarge)

I agree 100%. What I was trying to get at is its a waste of time and energy to try and get a full sized mufflers to fit on an LS1 car. Your just not going to get that deep muscle car sound out of it.Originally posted by Fbomb View PostHowever, duals do sound SO much better than a cutout behind a Y.
Duals with bullets are lighter and sound very mean.

Only reason for the ovals was to get it a bit quieter. Thinking I might be able to achieve that with some race bullets welded further up the x-pipe though. Found some that are 3.5" OD.Originally posted by c0ncEpT View PostI agree 100%. About 50/50Originally posted by Fbomb View PostProbability of re-using my strut mounts? Car is pretty clean, almost no undercarriage rust but you never know...
Out of the 4 I've had to change on 2 different cars 1 on each car was either broken or needed a torch to remove melting the rubber.
