  • Meh well, I think I might need new header gaskets as well because when I'm driving around with the cutout closed-and I can actually hear things-it sorta sounds like I have an exhaust leak up there, but not when it's idling and my head's under the hood

I need to figure out how to reattach parts of my bird vinyl in the front though because it's already peeling maybe some trim adhesive will do the trick.

Also need to get a video of driving downtown scaring girls on the sidewalk with cutout open and short little blips of throttle. Thing's LOUD with the cutout open.

    • you could be gaing a few hp, but the Hooker catback flows well so I wouldn't bet its anything huge. On the other hand I have a stock catback so my car picked up 33rwhp and 22ftlbs with the cutout open

      • Use stock GM MLS gaskets. Everything else is garbage.

Still need to wetsand and polish the underside of the hood, and take pictures of it. And secure that wire a lot better.

                • I shall tease you now, as the battery in my camera died shortly after this clip:

The real video is on facebook. I didn't get to record it. But it will not be posted. By the way this all happened on a closed road. We actually closed it off.

                    • In a few weeks after I get home. I was going to go last Sunday but the weather was very questionable until an hour before mid-mich closed.

Our car show has also been postponed until Sep. 18

                      • By the way I destroyed that Honda and it runs mid-low 12's in the quarter on street tires.

                            • What? No. Often going from the 2-3 shift I accidentally drop it down into 6th!

                              • I seem to be having a problem sometimes when after driving for an extended amount of time, like on the highway, my car will idle at 1200rpm or a little higher. I suspect a vacuum leak with a sticky PCV valve being the key suspect. Would there be any problems (mechanically) if I just vacuum capped the PCV fitting on the intake and ran a filter as a breather for the valve cover? I already have a filter on the other valve cover.

Originally I thought it was the intake seals but I re-torqued the intake and no change, when I put the intake on they looked fine though.
I'm not going to get a catch can and I don't want all the oil in my intake, maybe deleting the pcv will work as a solution.
