  • Installed the 160* t-stat today and it's idling at 1200 when it's warmed up. Going to talk to Phil to pick his brain on what it might be. Maybe startup enrichment if the computer thinks it's not reaching temp?
Also got some 3" pipe and a connector from work, pulled the insulation off the underside of the hood and clearcoated it. Tomorrow I'm going to wetsand/buff the shocktowers and maybe the underside of the hood if it's cured, move the cutout further back and weld it in, and wash/wheel/wax the car.

      • Man, I hate welding underneath my car. Especially with a welding mask that I have to HOLD in front of my face.

        Pics later.

          • Yep. I'll be back around in about a month, then I'll get to see people more on Woodward. Gonna be a busy summer.

              • Thanks Kyle. The HID's definitely make it a lot more fun to drive at night, the old headlights sucked even though they were the xtravisions.

                    • Thanks Darren.

Also figured out my blinker/foglight problem. Was a combination of burnt out bulbs in both blinker and foglight, so I bought replacement bulbs for both. Went with the cheapest fog I could since I might upgrade them to HID's sometime later on.

                      • So I might cut some templates for the underside of my hood this summer...http://www.mirroredplexiglass.com/

Might be nice for a side job, just maybe. Doesn't really seem profitable though because there aren't too many customers for this kinda stuff.

Thats what happens when your blinker fluid is low

Yeah I know, must not be enough cooling action when it gets low so the bulbs overheat. My idle is kinda rough too. Think Imma stop by the zone later and pick me up some JDM ignition yo.

                            • Is it possible that my cutout is actually giving me more power? I'm running a Hooker catback and it might just be my imagination but throttle response seems a lot more snappy with the cutout open. Maybe it's just because it's a lot louder, like the same effect a fartcan has in making kids think that their car is faster. Or maybe my 3" single pipe cat-back is restrictive for my setup!

                              • I think the loudness has a lot to do with it I don't remember who told me but someone awhile back said that an open cutout can sometimes cause a little less torque because you don't have as much backpressure. It wasn't the case when I had my car dynoed - I gained about 4hp and a couple pounds of torque, but Phil said it was more than likely a gain because the car cooled down a bit inbetween runs rather than the cutout being open.
