no havent even thought about it, gotta take care of my current bill with what ive done so far. i do know im going with something near a 232/230 cam although, just not which brand and such. still have some time to get everything i need and im trying to talk the wifey into giving me some of our tax money for the project, but thats not as easy as i thought, lol

well i pulled my stock cam last night along with the oil pump and timing chain. man i cant believe how much dried up oil was inside that cover. anyways on the first lobe of my cam was a mark, almost looked like it was supposed to be there. like the chrome popped off, lol. its still pretty smooth and the shape almost seems too perfect not to have meant to be there. does this sound right? i will post pics tonight when i get home. i dont plan on reusing the cam but was just wondering

Sounds like the tip of the roller on the lifter was going. New lifters should solve your problem

I researched lifters and found that people have had LS7 lifters fail on them (wheel falls off) with over .600" lift. I ended up going with Gaterman LS1 lifters which are the exact same dimension as the originals and a little cheaper.

Thunder racing is more expensive than Texas Speed. As far as I know the custom cam package from TSP is a pretty good deal.

well the ls6 heads will go to the machine shop tomorrow to be inspected and possible new springs put in. new timing chain and the ported ls6 oil pump are cleaned up and ready for installation. fundage is low so the rebuild is going kinda slow, no worries although, there is still lots of snow around, lol

yep not sure exactly what gaskets you want but it would be cheaper for you to get them off gmpartsdirect as i found our place is being jerks, use to be 10%over cost for ppl we know now its trade which gmparts direct beats trade with shipping included, here are some part nubers for now

just so you are aware Mike you will NEED new valvesprings for a bigger than stock cam so make that a major priority. I also just buy all my gaskets off gmpartsdirect and have for years you will want to go with the LS2 headgaskets for those heads as well
