Got some more done on it Friday night.

    Back seat brackets out

Got the holes where the brackets were, filled in. (fiberglass bondo). Hopeufully prevent the water from entering or dust. Even though this wont be driven in the rain, you never know.

Removed the spare tire bracket and the antenna. Probably wont be listing to radio, more or less cd's if anything.

WHOOPS! Glad im repainting it! :emb:

All of the brackets I have removed

Took out the headliner, i am SOOOOOO sick of this falling down on me! When I owned the car I went out and bought headliner material, well I used all different types of spray glue, even 3M! Its sagging, yet again. I think I am gong to sew it up. (any suggestions?)

Nice progress. I like to know a cheap fix for a non sagging head liner also. Mines been sagging for like a year now & just getting worse.

nice progress. This looks like a ton of fun. I'm totally jealous. I'd love to have a project bird to play with.

It looks like ass, but I had my dad take two VERY short screws and screw the headliner up. Havnt had a problem since. Be VERY careful, the crack in my window grew a few in when we did it, got too close to the window.

          Looks good

i remember someone telling me they used an aersol based glue before to spray glue inside the sagging part of the headliner through tiny holes.

never seen it done, but just throwing the idea out there anyway.

Decided to clean the carpet last night.

This is what I started with!

This is what it looked like when I was all done, i wish it came out better, this is powerwashing and pretreating it and scrubbing it. I might end up dying it. We will see. At least it doesn't smell like smoke and i know its clean.

I decided to rip off the sound dampening stuff

Did you go to a car wash and do it or just a small washer at home?

carpet looks much better, did you try hitting the spots that did not come out with some resolve spot magic or other carpet cleaning chemical? just an idea to spray it with that, let it soak in and then powerwash again.

lol, I work at a detail shop and i tried every trick in the book. Typically if there is dirt worn in the carpet and hasn't been clean its there for good. Or until you dye it. It is what it is. I will probably end up replacing the carpet in my 99 and put that carpet in this one.
