      • You should ALWAYS measure for pushrod length...

Jeff has a checker I'm sure he would let you borrow if you asked.

Maybe next winter. No money in the budget for a cam swap right now since I have a house payment and a garage to finish. I do have some money set aside for a detail that I never got last year...
            Well, change of plans...

I've decided to add a cam and converter to the list.

What I have gathered so far in addition to the cam:

            LS7 Lifters

            7.4" Pushrods

Melling High Volume & Flow Oil Pump

Trick Flow Dual Spring Kit - Springs/Retainers/Seats/Seals

            B&M Trans Cooler

I have a head/cam swap gasket and bolt kit, LS2 timing chain, LS2 lifter trays, and LS1 rocker arms on the way. Ridings should have my 3800 converter finished next week.

            Got a cherry picker too...

I still need to get some dollys so I can move the engine and trans after dropping the K frame.

Does anyone have a valve spring compressor tool I can use for a few days? I don't really want to spend $90+ on one. Also, does anyone have tips on installing the valve seals? I am really worried I am going to rip one on the end of the valve stem or on the lock channel.

Yeah man, I'm really looking forward to it. Not only the cam, but finally getting my car out for the year.

                      • Got my shipment from Texas Speed today...

                        LS2 Lifter Trays

                        LS2 Timing Set

                        Head/Cam Gasket Set

I typically order all gaskets individually. This gasket set made things a lot easier. That's the way I'm going from now on.

I just need a few more things now. A few miscelenaous tools - T50 torx, fuel line disconnect tool, dome deepwell sockets. I need my converter from Ridings and my rocker arms. I'm still looking for a valve spring compressor too - does anyone have one I can borrow?

Thanks man. I guess I should start actually working on it so I can call it a build and not a part collection. Lol

The big ones on the left or the old magazine ads on the right? The big ones are cool but I like the old ads better because they are what made me want a Trans Am. The big ones are available on eBay still and can be customized. I posted a thread on them a while ago.
