You probably wont even be able to see that so I don't think the paint exactly matching will be a big deal. As long as theres no bare metal.

Ahh...big update here...
Here's the painted area with the tape and paper towels removed...kinda sharp lines, but what do I care - you'll never see it. It matched very, very well (good enough for being barely visible - not that you would've even seen the primer, either):

Supercharger installed, as well as throttle body:

MUCH more clearance now. I can easily wrap my hand around the pulley with room to spare (Thanks to Fred):

Air intake pipe installed from fender to throttle body:

Belt around all pulleys except tensioner...this is the amount I need the tensioner to go down (not happening thanks to GM's shitty design):

Extended washer pump harness (the thing hanging to the ground):

Routing of washer pump harness as well as extended washer line:

Attaching the new 8-Pin Throttle Body to the 6-Pin wires...

Shrunk (I love these things):

Taped up:

I put loom around two butt connectors (so 3 of those little loom pieces), and then taped all around that. Doesn't look particularly appealing, but it works, and you won't see it:

Pulled the throttle body wires back in the main loom, so I can still route the injector plug nicely, instead of over the valvecover...put loom on it:

Connected to the throttle body (guess my mess up making two wires a little two short somehow turned out good, with a "pre-angled" throttle body connection):

My proposed mounting of my heat exchange coolant reservoir:

Got picture happy...

Big thanks to Fred today, for coming over and beating the shit out of my car.

A hint on doing butt connectors in the future - if you can, try to space them away from each other by cutting the wiring at different lengths. Like, maybe cut two wires coming off the tb at 3 inches, then two more at 4 1/2 inches, and so on, that way when they get placed in a wiring loom, they won't be all bunched together in a hideous bundle. Doesn't look like you had that option here, but in the future it's a good hint to follow.

Yes, I was thinking about doing that, as well - probably should have...Originally posted by LS1Formulation View PostA hint on doing butt connectors in the future - if you can, try to space them away from each other by cutting the wiring at different lengths. Yeah - in that bundle, there's 3 pieces of loom...

Here's the list I just sent Sammy of things left to do:
Get belt on (a *****), install heat exchanger, modify and mount reservoir, plumb heat exchanger circuit, extend voltmeter wiring, plumb boost line to gauge, wire boost gauge, install wideband (whenever I get it...shoulda been here this week), run tune, fire.
The belt is going to be very difficult, I might just order a $90 tool, but it'll take a few days, if they even have them...but it will allow me to get the belt on by myself, which will be helpful, since I'll probably have to take the supercharger off to get that stupid boost nipple on, assuming I can get the old one out.
But I'm still waiting on the wideband too, the boost nipple will be shipped from a GM warehouse in Michigan.
Thanks again for the help, Fred.Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

Is the tool something you could just rent? I know that when we were putting the motor together for the malibu I rented like three different tools. You just have to put down a deposit but they return it to you when you bring the tool back, I always did it at our parts store. Today's Update.
I feel I got a lot done...getting damn close.
Started by mocking up the cobra heat exchanger:

It fit, just barely (actually rested against the bottom lip of the bumper, but wasn't too bad), so I drilled my holes in the crash bar and bolted it up:

The clearance between the fittings and the AC condenser...not a lot...hmm

Covered the car up cause it was getting dark - it sprinkled for about 5 minutes...
Decided that the way I mounted it originally would suck to connect the heater hose up, if I could do it at all - not to mention, the hoses would have to cross...so I flipped it around, and mounted it much further back, so it has no issues with the front bumper either:

Can't even tell there is a heat exchanger...

Put the 90s on the end of the heat exchanger, connected by some heater hose, and tested for clearance - good to go:

Quick shot of the bracket:

Elbows on, no bumper:

Line from the out of the heat exchanger to the in of the pump is installed:

The crazy Tee fitting, and it's lines...comes out of the endplate (up top), to the tee, which goes (directly) to the heat exchanger in fitting, and (indirectly) to the coolant reservoir...which will serve as the overflow tank, and if it needs more, it should be able to suck it through the hose (if physics works right):

Tee connected up to Heat exchanger:

Some shots of the plumbing:

Cut a hole in the Coolant reservoir for the fitting:

Bought a 3/4" butt connector (if you will), and cut off one end to use for the reservoir:

All RTVd on:

I gotta get this thing done...

Words to live by! I've been doing this for years.
