The Huron speed looks really nice, I almost pulled the trigger on one last week. But I just can't have 2 cars under the knife at the moment. It is relly tempting though, that is a great priced kit!
    Let me know!

    • the problem with the ls9 cam - is you need the proper front cover, timing gear, and cam sensor.

Your only saving a few dollars vs a custom cam and good valve springs.

      • It's still a lot cheaper with the LS9. I've got roughly $900 wrapped up in my valve train

        • What does it mean when someone says "blew through the converter"? My 3500 tci super street fighter isnt going to hold up with the 3.73s, is it?

          • it means the convertor can't fully couple with the torque. So it continues you to all the way down the track.

            • I wouldnt imagine you would want 3.73's on a turbo car anyway.

              • 3.73s arent going anywhere, at least until the rear needs replacing

I'm going to try it and see what happens. I have another complete axle w/3.42's waiting in the wings.

how much power do you want to make? I have seen several guys not worry about it, 90% of it is all tuning and what your tuner is comfortable with making on stock stuff.

                      • I would. You get a good amount of heat in those cylinders and the rings will butt and take out a ringland.

Cheap insurance if your going to have the motor apart. I would resize the rods for ARP rod bolts also.

i wouldnt worry about it mike.. maybe if oyu were planning on 18lbs.. but you should be fine on anything less then 12.. which i wouldnt suggest going over that on a stock bottom end anyway

^ This does make a lot of sense. If your not trying to set the world on fire with stock parts I wouldn't mess with it.

                            • I was hoping to do 12 or 13 lbs. Any idea what kind of hp or 1/4 this will make. Im sure 12 will be plenty for the street. Im not putting a cage in so racing will be minimal
