Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Not a bad price at all jeff, but yeah not ready for it yet. And if it is too big for a 5.3? Im not understanding how an n/a z06 cam is good for boost, but that price is good for new.
I think you need to spend a lot of time just reading posts on good informative turbo sites, theturboforums is very good as well as Yellowbullet and even LS1tech has some very very knowledgable people in their FI section. The turbo I have is well suited for the LS2 which is why I was going to run it, one of the bigger T4 flange units you can run and cars have been into the 8s on them at heavy weights. It would be likely slow spooling on a 5.3 though.

It's not really Everyone runs them because they are cheap and they are better than stock. There are plenty of better cams out there but the LS6 is a good compromise (it's what I'm currently running)...cam choice is not as important when you force air into the engine.
The LS9 is a better choice but I would have needed a new timing chain cover, cam sprocket, cam sensor extension harness, etc to make it work with my LS1

mike do not forget you for 550-600 rwhp you will need to think about your rear end and transmission. the 10 bolt will deff not survive much at that power level at all. even launching it on the street may cause issues
don't waste a dime on a Zo6 cam or even an ls9 cam (the ls9 cam is for a blower, and not nearly as good on a turbo car) save your $300 on a less adequate stock cam and either get a custom cam for around $400 or just leave the one in it you have now, hell it might work just fine. I left my NA cam in my car, I figured **** it, if it doesn't work i'll change it later, as it happened to unfold it works really good in my car. as for heads, that's really not all that important either. I suggest something that is an aftermarket casting with thicker decks, I picked up a set of cheap Dart 205's, they're un touched and nothing special, but the thicker deck is better for keeping gaskets in place.
second. you don't need a cage necessarily to go to the track. I should be kicked out every pass I make, but I only attend no et events where the tech is extremely lax (especially when you have a quiet full exhaust turbo car that looks like a nothing special Head/Cam/12 second camaro with some pro stars)
550-600 rwhp is plenty streetable, I drive my car all around on pump gas and 10# of boost, it made 620 to the tire on seans dyno (known for being stingy....whatever, the car runs alright on 10# and ET's right where it should for the power)
Leave the stock heads on the 5.3. If going with a 5.3 I would only swap valve springs, pushrods, and cam. If you decide to run a lot more than 8-10psi you should consider LS9 head gaskets and arp head studs.
