    Would it be beneficial to put 317s on my 5.3? I know it will lower the compression but not sure if its worth it. I have a set lined up for $100 with a bad valve

    Too doggy I hear out of the hole?

    don't sweat it at all Mike there are a lot more important things than a car hobby, get back at it when you can but I think you can make a very reliable 600rwhp combo with where your headed.

    Yeah im going with the 3.50s, hopefully that will be the sweet spot. No I havent really started on the car yet. Mostly collecting parts and cleaning up parts that im going to reuse. Shortblock is going to the shop soon hopefully. Still contemplating going forged internals. I want/need 600+ whp and I want it reliable without maxing out all my parts lol. Just been trying to enjoy the new camper at the moment and been dealing with a lot of family issues, so no time to think about the firebird

    Mike, I think you will be good with the 3.50 gears. I think with the "noisy" 3.25's I got from Sean and the 6 speed I don't ever think I will touch 6th gear. I may be wrong but it is a concern of mine. have you started in on the car yet?

    3.50 should be around 2w00 at 70 and 131ish at 6000 at the track

    Sounds like you are right on with a 3.50 gear as long as your not against doing some mods to the bottom end. Or maybe loosing some durability if you don't.
