Dont know how much track time ill get without a cage and im not looking at getting one soon. So best optimized street setup. Both my street tires and DRs are 26" so ill stick with that. Thx Jeremy

Your not going to run the 1/4 in over drive - use 1.0 for 3rd.
3.50 @ 6000 w/5% slip = 126
3.25 = 135
If you plan on running that fast - I'd consider going 28" tires

26" tire , 6000rpm, 5% slip, 0.750 trans ratio? What mph 130? Comes out 4.53???

how many rpms and what mph do you want to trap?
http://www.tciauto.com/tc/racing-calculators - calculate with like 5% slip and that'll get you in the ball park

3.50/3.70 depending on how high you want to spin it and running 28" tires.

What gear ratio for a 9" would be ideal? Thinking a non lockup converter so was thinking 3.0 or 3.10s. Which brand without breaking the bank? Thanks

anyone know how much some forged 5.3 pistons might cost and where to find them? rods? just thinking if the car isnt going to make it out this year maybe i should shop around for some forged internals. wouldnt be against used stuff. thx. looking for injectors and headgaskets for the 5.3 and a rebuild kit for the 80e now. just bought a truck so that ate into funds for the bird but the wifey wants a camper this year. have to keep her happy or nobodys happy lol. so my build isnt going as fast as planned or wished but oh well. looking for deals to move ahead

Just keep chugging along.
I got word yesterday that my unlce wants an LSx swap for his radical body mod 55 Nomad, tried to buy the Z06 cammed 5.3 I built for my dad. I just happen to have a nice 5.3 in the garage with hopes of a turbo. He said that if I build him an engine, him and his son would do all the body/paint on my Bel Air. He owns a metal fab/CNC company, his son (my cousin) graduated WyoTech for body and paint. I'm thinking of parting ways
Kind of torn...always wanted a boosted 5.3, but I could always sell him the built 6.0/built 4l60e from the Z28 and go from there. After driving this SRT-4....man, boost is addicting!!

well the rest of my Huron Speed kit showed up a couple days ago. Now to continue to collect parts and pieces. Im needing a cam (tick), headgaskets (LS9), valvesprings, ARP rodbolts installed, and 60# injectors for the engine. I still have to decide on a turbo as well. Im leaning towards (with jonnys help) the t7675 so I can always go up if needed/wanted. Im gunning for 650 rwhp to start. I need to get a rebuild kit and converter for my 4L80e. I also have purchased a Moser 9" housing but need all the parts (next winter project?). My first goal is to get these finished and installed in the car. The rest I will piece together during the spring and summer. i doubt my car will be out this year but Im going to try. so much for a budget build lol. to keep the wifey happy and not get myself divorced, i have to keep spending down lol. so if anyone has parts/pieces I may need, get a hold of me. Im not against using used parts if they are good

The only advantage of your 6.0 block is it will fit square port style heads. Assuming you have a turbine side that can handle it. Only play with the 6.0 if you can do it right or you wont be happy with how it runs. The 5.3 is every bit as good. Hell just the price of that block would cover alot of other expenses.
