  • New guy in Fenton. 454 LSX

    Hey guys,

My names Trevor, I was told how great this site was by a buddy of mine (importkiller) so i thought id check it out.

Ive had my car torn apart for over a year now, but its getting a ground up restoration (all done by me), been having alot of fun, just getting ansy, wanting it back on the road.

Here are a couple pictures, before i tore it apart, (circa 2 years ago) As you can see it was perfectly fine,
and im crazy for tearing it apart. A few months after i got it, i put an STS kit on it (full of problems)

Its getting a 454 LSx, LS7 based build. expecting ~620WHP all motor, with a 200 shot down the road.

First thing everyone should realize is that this will remain my DD, and it will rack up ~20,000 miles a year. I plan on being very active in the hobby, and will travel to all the big shows/events around the country, including Carlisle, LSX shootout, etc. I would love to have a schedule this summer that includes an event every weekend this summer. My car has been in the garage for way to long, and i intend to make up for that.

So far, Ive put in an 8pt roll bar, sound deadened the whole car, new carpet... plan on wrapping everything in carbon fiber and leather.

I tore the car down to the unibody, and cleaned everything then, undercoated the whole car, Oh yea, and i painted my 10 bolt pink,

I seam welded the engine bay, and put panels to cover up all the weird holes, and divets. Ill post some pics below.
Im still working on it. Im thinking about re-painting the whole car, Id really rather have it not be black, maybe silver, or CETA yellow.

Here you can see the seam welding

Front Passenger Corner (Where the battery and coolant overflow used to be)

Front Drivers Corner (Where the fuse boxes use to be)

Everything in the engine bay will be relocated, The battery will be in the spare tires location, the fuse boxes will be under the dash, the computer will be under the dash, etc.

I just recently picked up a set of stock LS7 heads,

Next to one of my stock head

In closing, I apologize for this turning into more of a build thread update, than a introduction, but people actually seem to read this, opposed to other sites.

Here are my build threads on LS1Tech, for all you who want some reading material

Thanks for reading, and i look forward to meeting all of you in person, later this spring.

Yea, i remember, you had a really cool sig, a burnout i believe.

I needed a stepping stone, going from a stock engine to a 454, was a big leap, as is. but if i were doing a KB, It'd take another 20-30 thousand... lol and i just dont have that lying around, im only 21.

So, look for the KB, down the road, but maybe in a GTM.

I sure did, seems much more civil than Tech, just as you said.

Make some time to stop by this weekend to check the progress.
