Fred the when refered to as the LSx its generally refered to as your previous thinking, but the LSX is an entirely different motor. Its an iron block, and can be use for 500+ cubic inches IIRC, most commonly 427 and 454 though. Its only a block, not a complete engine.

I'm only keeping the 10 bolt for financial reasons. I would like to get a fabbed 9" with 4.56 gears and a wave trac or spool. But as I mentioned, its just not in the cards right now. So I'll be babying the 10 bolt for a couple months probably.

Like has been already said, the LSX block was designed by GMPP to handle 2500hp.

You can put whatever topend on it you want. I chose to run a ls7 topend so that I could run 600whp with a factory intake.

          Don't jinx me...

But, I am hoping I can fall into like 5k somehow...

I want to run R6s 315 on the front/345 on the rear. So obviously I need a new rear end before i can think of doing that.

                  HKE is building my motor!

                  Ill get the details later.

The heads are stock for now, I found a set of stockers for $1200!!!! So, I jumped on em.
Most people are asking like 1800-2000 for stock LS7 heads

I want to get a set of WCCH heads, in a few months, when I have some money.

I have obviously hit a financial block, and just want to car the car back on the road. ill finish all the little details later.

Also, I have a Spec 3+ clutch in the car already

the spec wont hold the power you think your gonna make. 10 bolt wont hold and the 4.56 are not gonna work well unless your gonna spin it to 9000rpm

I agree 100% but if hes out of $$ guess it'll just have to do, hope that clutch holds long enough to get it tuned.

Well... aren't you just a negative nancy.

Spec 3+ is rated at 850 lb/ft, more than enough...

Plenty of people run 10 bolts, there are people who dip into the tens with it, I'm not even gonna be drag racing.

no one is making fun of you or your car, this is constructive criticism if you don't want opinions then don't post up. I'm not trying to be a dick in any way and I really like your build we are just letting you know that these things will be major problems, I'm sure you're already aware. Also we were just trying to keep you from breaking shit or not doing it right the first time and spending much more $ down the road.

I understand, I wasnt really speaking to you.

BADAIR has been quite the negative nancy since I got on this site, feels like hes just trying to play devils advocate to everything I say.

but, dont worry, I have a tough skin, and bigger things to worry about then his bunched up panties.

just telling you how it is. I have been there and done it. Also have probably built more LS stuff than anyone here or on many other sites. I can tell you from first hand experience what will and wont work
