The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. That just needs to be scotch brighted, along with all the jams and under the hood, and under the rear deck.
Only main reason to primer something is if its bare metal, if its had body work done to it (bondo, fiberglass ect.) or if you want to block it out to make it straight.
My car was sanded down and blocked with 150. Then primered with 3 heavy coats. Then blocked again with 150. Now its primered again with 3 coats, and will be blocked out again with 400.
Then everything will be ready for paint.
I'm pretty excited to see the car in color....the car is super straight!
nice! First real paintjob ive seen in usa. thoose car we got from there is all full of plastic padding.
Yeah for sure!! That we tried to make as straigt as possiable. I thing we did the best we could on the front nose.
You can never get those 100% straight.
I think I did a good job on the side skirts. A lot of sanding thats for sure!
I have I'm guessing 9 hours just on the hood to get it ready for the 1st coat of primer.
LOL.....no one is touching my hood!!! I had so many little whoops and stone chips in it. It took forever to get straight.
Then, from the factory, the body lines aren't really that good. So sence I'm taking the side moldings off. I made sure you can see all the body lines.
Bryan calls me at midnight, (yeah I was sleeping), Hes like WOW that color is SO cool looking.
I was like what???? I was half asleep.
I guess the flipped my hood over, and tested out the color.
LOL....so I'm a little upset because I wasn't there when they did it

I guess theres 2 special dyes that have to be added to the paint.
And its $$$$ I guess they charge by the gram. So what ever we use in the paint, thats what we get charged for.
The guy keeps these in his van. (the matrix sales rep)
and takes it to places and drops it off for people who are doing the "special paint jobs"
Yeah I'm pretty excited, were going to start to paint the jams this weekend.
