OK....you said this on 2 forums.....there is NO WAY I'm going to copy your paint job.Originally posted by ICEPICK View Postcopy cat.
Purple and pink doesn't look good on red. Plus your bird was on the nose. Mines going on the hood (if I like it)
And yeah sort of ghostly, I dont want it looking gaughty at all. I want it to flow with the car not be a eye sore.sigpic

i hope your not saying mine is an eyesore. but to elaberate there will be no pink this time the white will be based befor the purple goes on since purple and white turn the pink color.
but you are looking at a bird on the hood out of flames with it coming of the hood and down the side to the doors, well i had a simular design that made it look like flames coming from under the hood down to the doors but not from the hood. just coming from the top down the door, thats all. copy cat. thats what i said but im changing that to somthing a little diffrent. hope it wont insult your car if we accidently park by each othere. since it seems latly that mine has been considerd an outrages ugly paint scheam i guess it was good that i wrecked it so it can be fixed.sigpic

How am I suppost to "read into it" Sounded like an insult to my car to me.
Anyway, I bought the Primer and the clear yesterday.
Yeah the clear was.....lets just say a lot.
Its suppost to be the best on the market and shine like no other.
So we will see if the Martix guy is right.
I have to clean the primer gun out good, so I hope to have it in its 1st heavy coat of primer pretty quick. Then I can start the blocking process.
I know I have to sand the front nose....thats going to be the hardest. I have to get rid of all the stone chips.
I hope more pics will come soon.

sounds like a great project, but if i were you i would step up to a finer paper after 80 or it's gonna take like 20 coats of primer. 80 is good for really blowing through some paint but i would step up to a 160 or something to fine out the deep scratches. it will make your life easier after primer. It is a good thing that you spent a little extra on the clear coat. Something i wish i did, i got like a mid grade clear coat and it is just not as durable as the top of the line. I will be respraying my whole car next summer but i hope to add an ss hood and spoiler too. Plus the top of the line ppg clear coat keeps an excellent shine and is very durable, we had a rock hit my mom's car(top o line clear) and it didn't chip the paint. Well good luck man and don't forget to take lots of pics.sigpic
