Well got out of work and went to go work on my car last night.

We fixed up the hood and put a skim coat on most of the larger dents.
Then put a HEAVY coat of primer on it.
Were going to let it shrink up a little and block it out with 150.
Then primer it again and prep it for paint.

I also sanded a lot of my parts, some with a scotch brite and some with 400, depending on how they were.

We weren't going to primer my whole car because it was pretty straight. We were just going to scuff it down and shoot it.
But now we decided to primer it all and block it out. Just to make sure we dont miss anything.
I'd hate to paint and clear it and say O shit....we missed a small dent.

So thats the scoop from last night.

Dont say that....thats just my luck!
I'd like the car to shrink a bit once we primer it. I dont need any shrinkage....anywhere LOL!!

So once we primer it, I'd like it to sit out in the sun for a couple days to shrink up before we block it all.

Yeah, I took off my door weather stripping and my trunk weather stripping.

                      That was about it today.

All in due time. I know it will get done.

More like wont be done till the 2nd week of June.

I'll try to post pics when I get a chance.
Both patches have been welded in for the door handles and the locks.
I'm also shaving the radio antenna.
The reason why it's taking to long...I guess red hides a lot of small dings.
We blocked the whole car down with 80 grit sandpaper. Just to we can try to get the car as straight as possible. Then it will get a nice coat of primer, heavy and thick. Then we can block that down also.

I'll let the cat out of the bag. Sense it won't be at the meet and greet.
Some people will like it and some wont.
I have to see it 1st. The guy is supposed to draw it up so I can look at it.
But what I'm thinking of is this.....
The Firebird airbrushed on my hood, like it's on fire. Not any loud colors....more oranges ect.
But the flames will continue up the hood and down the side of the car a little, maybe part way down the doors.
So that's the idea, I hope it looks good on paper, because the way the guy was talking, it will be pretty sweet for sure, But it wont stand out like its not supposed to be there,
So we will soon find out. I guess the guy has his own isle to hold the hood and everything.
I'll try to take some pics when it gets in prime. I don't need any one seeing all the bondo thats in the car
O.....Also welded up a patch for the rear quarter....looks very good!

                              Sounds like an awesome idea!

So, everything will be almost ghosty - but visable, right?
