  • Thanks again Kevin, should help me in snarl the seat situation.

I started putting things back on the car yesterday. Brake booster, master cyl. Bunch of stuff under the hood. Took the consol out.....again! To put in my new leather handled parking brake. Put in the 99 cluster I picked up a while back. Fuel line and the front shields are back in. Progress.

So , on the seat delima. I have an option to, A, convert over to a standard power track, and not use the lumbar stuff, or ,B, use a manual track and again no power stuff. Until I can find the right harness and hoses. Otherwise I'm stuck. Can't do any interior work until that piece is in.....what to do....?

    • I would just find a set of cheap manual brackets until you can take the time to figure out the wiring

      • Yeah, I probably will. It just sucks because, seats console, carpet, and plastics have to come out to install the harness. Lotta work.

        • Nope. Not giving up on the seats. I think I have it figured out. I need to add one wire, and a negative wire to pass seat. I'll use hose barbs to connect the tubes.

          • Ok , got that done! I used vinyl 1/4 inch tubbing for the lumbar pump, with 4 hose barbs to make the connections.
The power /wiring harness cost me around $60.00, I had to combine 2 early 4th gen harnesses and add a ground wire to the passengers plug. There are 6 wires that go from seat to seat .I had to add the purple wire and extend the ground to the pass. Seat plug. I had to buy a new soldering iron and solder. My little harbor freight iron just wouldn't get the larger guage wire hot enough. I used a 18 volt Dewalt battery to test. Everything works great.

            • Back of the car was reassembled today. Fuel system rear end and rear suspension were reinstalled.
Turns out its a 3.42! That rear end just keeps on giving!
I'll get some pics up tomorrow.

                • So the motor and trans are now positioned under the engine bay. I need to shove ot back in so I can begin work on the wiring harness. I am also ready to start re installing the interior. Things are starting to come together!

On the bad side the effing abs unit leaked and wrecked the paint a little. Enough to piss me off.......

                  • Stayed up late and put the interior back together. Had to take things back to almost removing the carpet to get the seat wiring back in. I feel kinda bad not running the wiring for the stereo system that I know will come at some point.

I'll get some pics up soon. I promise!

I need to start building the harness. Not looking forward to it.
